The condo itself was nice, clean, and as represented in the listing. Unfortunately, our experience with Southern Vacation Rentals’ communication and customer service was very disappointing.During our stay, we received a text stating that a locksmith would be coming the following day to address an issue with our door. I replied that was fine, but also explained that we were not experiencing any problems with the door. The next morning, while we were out, someone apparently did come by, and we later received a text with a new door code.When we returned, the new code did not work. We attempted to call the number from the text message, only to discover it does not accept incoming calls — only texts. As we continued trying to get assistance, it became clear that the system was entirely AI-driven with no actual person available to help. It ultimately took us over an hour to gain access to our room and retrieve items we urgently needed for a family funeral, which was the reason we were in town. This delay made us late for the funeral.I repeatedly requested that someone call us directly instead of continuing to send automated responses and random code combinations to try. There was clearly no onsite staff or live support available to assist in a timely manner.While the condo itself was very nice, we will not use Southern Vacation Rentals again due to the lack of real customer support when an issue arises.
