Il Mercato Centrale offers an excellent central location right in the heart of the San Lorenzo Market district. From the moment you step inside, the building gives an atmosphere of a traditional Florentine residence. You can see that it was once a private apartment with beautiful high ceilings, which has been thoughtfully converted into several guest rooms with a shared breakfast area. Staff are present mainly in the mornings and early afternoons. Staying here felt like living in a local home, yet having the independence to come and go as you please. Our room was spacious, spotless, and very well maintained. The mini fridge was perfect for keeping drinks cool, and we appreciated the complimentary beverages provided on arrival. A continental breakfast was included in the rate—simple, yet good quality and more than enough to keep us going until lunchtime. One of the highlights of our stay was meeting Bouchra. She greeted us warmly at check-in and served breakfast throughout most of our visit. Her kindness, warmth, and genuine hospitality made our stay truly memorable. Thank you, Bouchra, for your wonderful care and conversation. Hope to see you again soon! A presto!

Location was convenient and walking distance from the train station and major attractions. Room was clean and spacious. Bathroom lacks furniture to place clothes or towels. Hot water in the shower is nice. Bed and pillows are comfortable. Breakfast is really good and kept us full for a long time. Unfortunately A/C is timed controlled and without A/C with the windows open the noise outside starts at 4 am and will not let you sleep at all. That is extremely unfortunate and could be easily solved if they would let the guest control the A/C for the full night. There is a steep stair to access the B&B 2 stories up. No elevator.

The room is exceptional. Comfortable bed and heat to have a coffee machine in the room. Free beverages in mini bar which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was superb. Only bad thing is no elevator not good for kids or elderly. Noise is really bad when it’s nighttime and early morning as the leather market is right outside below the windows. Excellent

We stayed in the Blu room. Everything was great, Bruscha (I think is her name) was wonderful. She took care of the check-in, cleaning and breakfast. Place was clean and very close to all the attractions, we walked everywhere. Breakfast was sufficient, a couple cold cuts, boiled egg, assorted pastries and bread and coffee to order. The mini fridge was stocked with complimentary drinks. Only con was that the AC kept cutting out at night, but I think it’s an Italy thing because it happened with our other hotels. Temperature wise, it was cool enough in October that we can open the window and be fine. The downside was that the market is right outside and was very noisy throughout the night (with the window open). We would be back!

The hotel has amazing and free breakfast and super close to all the tourist spots and diners. We did not even use taxi- even the train station was walkable.I would love to stay here again

This is really more of a B&B than a hotel. The entrance was not marked well but once you know where it is, it is an easy entrance. Thwre are 3 steep flights up the stairs (no elevator) The location is very close to all the major sights and you can walk everywhere. There are excellent restaurants in walking distance. The service provided by staff was excellent and the room was very spacious, and came with a filled small frosge that was free to use. The only downside to this location is the noise - the daily market with very touristy vendors is open until 7 pm daily and the cleanup takes place until late at night, then there are people out and about late at night, and then at 6 am the vendors for the market start setting up again. But the convience to everything was well worth it.

Very easy and convenient location. Host was very accommodating and let us check in early. Breakfast was more than expected with a variety of pastries, yogurt, juices, coffee, fruit and cereal. I may have misread only 4 stairs to the hotel, but it was 4 stories of stairs. A difficulty for my husband. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was very comfortable, and bath supplies plentiful. Very nice and they let us leave our luggage after checkout to retrieve later. I recommend Hotel Il Mercato Centrale… part of the marketplace and next to Pinocchio Restaurant… a favorite of ours.

This hotel exceeded my expectations! They really thought of everything — not just shampoo and shower gel, but also toothbrushes, toothpaste, little chocolates, and a few free drinks in the minibar. When I checked in, the AC was already on — such a small thing, but it makes a big difference and was so appreciated. Staff also helped me find ideal parking for my large car, and earplugs were provided since the street can get a bit noisy at night. Breakfast had a nice variety: pastries, boiled eggs, cereal, and juices. And the location is perfect — everything is within a 15-minute walk. It’s not just a room, it’s an experience. Highly recommend!

It took us a bit to find the unit but once we did we really like the location! Unit was clean and centrally located. Il Mercato centrale was right across the street! It got a bit loud in the mornings when the leather carts were setting in for the day but besides that we absolutely enjoyed our stay!

This was not a real hotel, but a room in a former apartment. It’s also far from the ponte vecchio, their profile pic. Despite the dirty hallway with trash in it and the unpleasant central market location, the place itself was clean and cute.

We were able to drop our bags off prior to check in and this was such a bonus. The young girl in charge even helped us carry our suitcases up the. stairs and was incredibly helpful with any questions or requests. The room was very well equipped, even having a mini bar with free drinks. Breakfast was basic but good. The only down side for us was the noise from the markets and market square. This was not softened by shutters but on the bright side, they did provide ear plugs. Very clean and central for a stay in Florence.
