We loved this small, but super convenient hotel. The staff: amazing, friendly and super helpful. Walked everywhere from here and super safe area. Will definitely recommend it too all of our friends and family. Very basic, but exactly what you need to stay in this amazing city.

I can't say enough good things about our stay at the Hotel Santa Croce. The staff was very welcoming and informative. The history of the hotel itself was fascinating. Our breakfasts in the morning were delicious. The location was perfect for us. Thank you so very much for such an awesome visit!

We stayed in the darling annex apartment. Upon check-in, the staff offered a welcome drink, took us outside to point out the notable historical landmarks in the neighborhood, and made us feel at home. Hotel staff was wonderful and the property is in a convenient location for exploring Florence. Our only issue was the room A/C was not cool enough given the weather (it was 100 F). Would absolutely love to revisit this hotel in any other season

Staying at this historic hotel was a memorable experience! While it lacks the amenities of a modern hotel (as we expected), we appreciated the charming glimpse into history it provided. During the period of PITTI UOMO, good accommodation for me. It takes 20 min by walk to go to the event and there are many nice restaurants. Also supermarket, Conad. This time I selected a type of apartment style that was good for me to cook and stay as my home. Front staff were good for the guests. I’ll book next my trip here.

This is a clean hotel with lovely staff. It is also in a very beautiful area of Florence. The rooms are modest in size and furnishings. Also you should note that there is no elevator. If you are looking for a very well kept hotel and OK with a small room this is your place.

The best little hotel

Excellent small hotel right in the center of Florence. Mario and Gabriel are the best hosts you can ever imagine!! The shower is the only setback::: it’s very small. But the breakfasts are huge and delicious.. and the Cappuccino….

A family run business. Very clean hotel and attentive staff. Only downside was being on the third floor and no lift. Other than that it was a great place to stay. Internet worked well. Gabriel makes a mean coffee.

2 Brothers running a hotel. We weren’t expecting much from a little hotel in Florence but when we walked in we were greeted by 2 of the nicest hosts we’ve ever come across in our travels. They will make sure you have coffee, they will make sure you have a great day ahead of you. No itinerary? They have a map with all the main spots and are happy to encourage you to see the city. No dinner plans? They know a couple good spots for you to check out. Overall they were kind and warm and made us feel like they wanted us to have a good time. They could be ambassadors and in fact I thought of them as such. The hotel is located next Michelangelo’s childhood home ( 1 for history) While the rooms are small they are clean and comfortable (who stays in bed all day in Florence anyway?) You’re in the heart of the city so anywhere you wanted to go is 20 minutes walking. Unless you want to splurge for a “fancier” hotel because you can, LOOK NO FURTHER. TLDR: Great Location, Even Better Staff

Every employee went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Never saw so many people making sure you were taken care of. Excellent location. They partner with a garage so if you have a car they will park it for you. Great price and breakfast included.

We had a small apartment in the auxiliary building just steps from the main office. Complete with kitchenette, microwave, kettle and stove top cooking with all necessary dishes and utensils, it met all our needs. The staff were very friendly and truly helpful. We would stay there again without hesitation.

Great small hotel in Florence

Hotel Santa Croce is a fine little hotel in Florence. It is centrally located near everything. The room was small but typical for a small European hotel. The bed was very comfortable and everything you need is provided. It is very clean. The breakfast is simple continental style but more than adequate, and the staff will make you as many delicious cappuccinos as you desire. The staff including owners Mario and Gabriel are wonderful; very accommodating, helpful and knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed our stay there and would not hesitate to stay here again if we returned to Florence.

Absolutely fantastic stay at the Hotel Santa Croce. There wasn’t a request the staff couldn’t help us with. They even brought out breakfast items that were celiac safe which was excellent. The room was small but the hotel is well taken care of. The AC in the room worked excellently. Location location location. Everything you would want to see was within an easy walk. We would go back to Hotel Santa Croce for our next visit!

The hotel is built into the old walls of the remains of the Florence coliseum. It’s on a lively alleyway next to the house Michelangelo grew up in and near Santa Croce square. For history lovers and people who like to be comfortably in the thick of things, it’s an excellent place to stay.

Everyone working at the hotel was amazing, friendly, and very helpful. They had great advice about the area and things to see and do and restaurant recommendations. The room was very clean. 10/10 would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a hotel, it’s a bit off the beaten path but all the better for that.

This hotel in more than excellent. Wonderful place to stay the owner and his brother were so polite,helpful, kind and great service. Very welcoming I will come back to this hotel next year.
