On checking into the property for a two night stay our booking hadnt been combined despite emailing earlier in the week and also advising that the two bookings should be beside each other as we were celebrating a special birthday and attending the rugby the following day. we also requested to be in the main building but instead we were being put over to the smaller annex apartment suites. However we did eventually come to some resolution but this was after a ninety minute wait in reception and having to put our point across very heavily. We felt that due to the hotel being very busy for the rugby our booking had been overlooked and downgraded and they also advised that as we were booking via expedia this would be the case. The breakfast was very poor the following morning, and the staff not very attentive at all, we had to wait around twenty minutes each time we asked for a coffee, the water was hot instead of cold for our chilled drinks and the staff couldnt have cared less, i also asked for some ketchup at the time of receiving part of my breakfast and received it fifteen minutes later once finished. At this point in time we dont feel we would stay there again and we have stayed in the W in Dubai three times and never had this experience.

I recently stayed at the W Edinburgh arriving after an overnight train trip on the Caledonian Sleeper. The W is a stylish new hotel that mixes a sleek blend of modern luxury and stylish Scottish flair. Perfectly placed in the St James Quarter, it’s ideal for exploring the city, steps away from top restaurants, shops, and just a short walk from Princes Street and the Old Town. You get both the buzz of the city and the calm of a luxury escape. Our room was beautiful with a large window, plush bedding, and thoughtful touches. The bathroom was a highlight, with a rainfall shower and luxurious amenities. Every member of staff struck that perfect balance of being relaxed yet professional. Service was genuinely outstanding. We would highly recommend the W to travellers to Edinburgh!

Lovely hotel, in a terrific spot in Edinburgh. Tons of shopping and restaurants on the doorstep. Staff were very courteous and super friendly. Rooms very nice, definitely a weird layout..regarding the bathroom area. Loved the fact that they had valet parking which is very rare in Edinburgh Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Disappointed in service.

The hotel is nice but the service is lacking. We went to celebrate a 40th birthday. The balloons and champagne were sent to a friends room instead of ours. Disappointing. We also booked a limo service through the hotel but was never sent a limo. They sent us a van instead. Very disappointing I’ve emailed the hotel multiple times now and haven’t got a response back. I won’t be staying here again due to their lack of communication and our negative experience with guests services.
