Booked this hotel due to proximity to Waverley station, just a short walk from the station lifts that take you up to Princes Street level.
The hotel is currently undergoing a refurbishment so the hotel restaurant and bar were closed but they emailed in advance and offered a free grab and go breakfast (fruit, yoghurt, choice of breakfast pastry, hot drinks, juice). You could also order room service for evening meals and drinks, although I didn’t test this out, I just purchased food in the neighbouring Marks and Spencer Store on Princes Street.
When booking the room I made a request that if possible could I have a room that was accessible via lifts or minimal stairs as I have multiple sclerosis and struggle with lots of stairs, staff were very accommodating, gave me a room near the lifts and actually upgraded my room for free, which was very kind of them. All staff that I met at the front desk were very friendly and welcoming and nothing was a bother to ask. I stored my luggage there on arrival prior to check in and on departure prior to check out too which was very helpful. I would stay there again mainly due to the location and friendly nature of staff, I only knocked off a star due to the renovation work and not having access to the bar or restaurant.
