The hotel is very new and modern and offers a bar, dining and even a Starbucks for convenience. Unfortunately the room was an almost complete disappointment. While the bed was beautifully made and comfortable, the room was not clean! One coffee cup had dried oatmeal stuck in it, crumbs were on the floor next to the bed and the sink dirty. I understand that sometimes things are missed but this was unacceptable. Also, I knew and was excepting of the bathroom layout and clear door but it would be smart of management to add a panel of etching to the clear doors.

Room was huge - we had the disabled access one. The bathroom is the biggest I’d seen. A few stains on the carpet but they been scrubbed as best they could. Would have liked some bedside lights, ended up using the TV on a scrambled signal to give a little light. Staff were friendly and really helpful. To the point of intervening with parking because it’s free at the weekend. Top tip - if you’re heading to Winchester, get the bus. Bus stop a short walk away, the route I direct, every 10mins. £3 til 6pm then £1.

Staff at check in were great. Car park was very full because there's a public gym at the hotel. Hotel rooms are weird - there's only a window in the bathroom. No fresh air available in the actual hotel room. Air con system is rubbish. Room was dusty throughout. Terrible night's sleep because there was a thumping noise coming from above my room - it sounded as if we were directly under the gym and there was always someone throwing weights at all hours. Not a good experience.

My room was on floor 2 towards the back of the hotel. The Gym was on floor 1 at the front of the hotel yet the music from the Gym and work out classes was so loud I couldn’t concentrate on work and had to have the TV on max volume. Then there was the loud banging at the same time, coming from an open door or window. Gym music and loud banging stopped at 10pm. The room had a glass door to the en-suite, so you had full view of the person sitting on the toilet and everything else private people do in bathrooms. The rainfall shower squirted water everywhere other than straight down. Looks like it hasn't been cleaned in the last 10 years. The carpets had many stains on it, making the room feel dirty if you walked around in bare feet. Bedside lamps each side were plugged into the only power socket by the bed. So you had to make a choice of light or your electronics. For the prices they charge you’d expect a much higher standard of room. £118 for one night in a small double room. Plus you have to pay for parking. It was like a continental cheap motorway motel worth maybe £40 per night at best. I assume you pay this over the top rate due to the Gym and having a Starbucks on site. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone. Go down the road to the Double Tree by Hilton and not only save yourself £30 or so, but you get a better room. Cleaner, more spacious, sockets everywhere round the room, better spacious desk to work, shower that works. free parking for Blue Badge holders.

Unfortunately got placed in a room on the second floor, the same level and next to the gym. I got a really poor sleep as all you can hear into the night/early hours is dropping of weights from the gym. Hotel would be great if you’re on another floor. It’s got a cool sports bar, decent gym and modern rooms. Ask for a room away from the gym and it’d be good!
