🌊The Ocean Cottage on Thumpertown Beach
Welcome to the Ocean Cottage, brought to you by The Heart of Cape Cod. Experience the perfect cozy coastal retreat just 176 yards from the bay in this charming 1940’s cottage. Immerse yourself in outdoor bliss in the summer with complimentary kayaks, a patio with BBQ area, a bocce court, and a lush vegetable garden. Enjoy the comforts of modern living with air conditioning and heating for those cool nights by the bay. A classic Cape Cod stay!

Thumpertown is a bayside beach. Close to freshwater ponds, Cape Cod Rail Trail (bike trail), Arnolds, Coast Guard and Nauset Light beach, Salt Pond Visitors Center, Eastham Windmill, and First Encounter beach.
Amazing summer beach days and sunsets await you at Thumpertown Beach. Just stroll down the road from your summer beach cottage, the Ocean, which is your base camp for all things fun on Cape Cod this summer.
Everyone is enjoying each other’s company while relaxing in the hammock and sitting around the deck watching the friendly competition going on in the bocce court, or the crazy game of badminton happening at the nets. See what is growing in the guests garden this year or take out one of the kayaks and paddle around the bay. You take a deep breath and breathe in that salty Cape air, breathing out the tensions and feeling the stress leave you like the tides. Splashing around on the flats at low tide will keep the kids entertained for hours as well.
The two-bedroom cottage has all the creature comforts. The first bedroom has a comfortable full bed for two. The second bedroom houses a bunk bed consisting of two single beds and the sunroom has a trundle bed that pulls out into two more beds. Like most daybeds, the trundle may not be the most comfortable for a full-sized man of six feet tall and 250 lbs., but one or two smaller adults, teens, or children that fit in a normal twin bed would be just fine.
The full-sized kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal but even so, who wants to cook when you are in one of the best vacation areas on Cape Cod? Each reservation comes with an award-winning guide to the best local’s insider tips and places to go, things to do, and places to see. You will also be staying close to Wiley Park and Great Pond, some of the greatest freshwater kettle ponds on the Cape. Hop on the Cape Cod Rail Trail and take a ride out to Nauset Light or maybe to the Chocolate Sparrow for a coffee. Everything is within reach here for the perfect family vacation.
Our Thumpertown Beach cottages are the perfect place to create memories that will last a lifetime. We would love to share all that Cape Cod has to offer, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch with any questions you may have!

Old Cottage, shared yard, super close to Thumpertown Beach
Small/cozy old cottage that has been renovated into a 2 bedroom type cottage w/ 3 season porch that actss as a living room during the summer. AC was cold inside to help beat the summer humidity. Shared yard with 2 other propties owned by the same company, many fruit trees and places to explore through the yard but be aware you will be sharing with your hopefullly friendly neighbors while staying. Even wit the shared yard every property gets a piece of tranquility and privacy on their back decks and side yard areas. No outisde light on the deck as they don't want groups outside late keeping the others awake. With young kids not a problem as no one was up past 9pm. But the reason you book this place is for the proximity to Thumpertown beach. In about 2-3 mins you can walk from driveway to beach parking lot. Google low tide images of the beach and make sure to go during that low tide to experience it. That quick walk to the beach made it great for young kids incase the little ones dont want to stay too long. Overall nice place, close to the beach but small and not 100% privacy while on the property.

Wonderful place, 3 minute walk to the beach
We had a great stay and enjoyed the quiet, peaceful neighborhood with its own beach at the end of the street. Great location near to Cape Cod National Seashore and plenty of hiking and other beaches. We came in June the week before the "season" started and highly recommend this time -- many of the paid beaches were free and parking was more readily available. Would definitely stay again!
