Lakefront Townhome across from Purg- Hot Tub, Fire Pit, Arcade Game - Views

Stay at our 4 bedroom/3.5 bath townhome and enjoy spectacular views of Engineer Mountain and Twilight Lake. The townhome is in the first row, so you have unobstructed mountain and lake views.

Perfect for multiple families, the home has 2 living spaces (on different floors) each with its own gas fireplace and 65” TV, 2 Master Suites (one up and one down, each having its own TV/private bathroom, indoor/outdoor dining areas on both floors (lower outdoor dining area is covered), fullly stocked kitchen, open floor plan and a covered hot tub that seats 6. There is a deck off the main living space with an outdoor dining table as well as additional seating and another outdoor living space off the ground floor living space with a private hot tub, gas fire pit and another outdoor dining table - both have awesome views.

Located directly across highway 550 from the Purgatory Ski Resort entrance, the home backs up to a designated federal wetland and is only 24 miles north of downtown Durango (less than a 30 minute drive).

The home is part of the resort so you have access to free on-demand shuttle service to Purgatory Ski Resort but since it is across the highway you have the privacy and additional space a townhome affords (it’s part of a duplex). At 8,900 feet of elevation, the home is a gateway to an amazing winter playground and also serves as the perfect summer retreat, with a million acres of national forest land at your doorstep offering all your favorite mountain activities. It’s only a 2 minute walk to Twilight Lake for fishing and paddle boarding and as well as Purgatory Flats Trailhead, one of the most scenic hikes in the San Juan Mountains. Horseback riding, jeep trails, an alpine slide, epic mountain biking and the Purgatory Inferno Mountain Coaster are all less than 5 minutes from the home.

Durango Paradise

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for the Iron Horse. Beautiful views, close to walking trails and a park for the kids. Will definitely try to stay here again for the next trip we have to the Durango/Purgatory area.

The house was beautiful with great amenities. I was initially concerned about being off the mountain and the shuttle availability, but I never waited longer than a few minutes. The kitchen was great with everything you could need to cook. I would absolutely book this again.

Birthday Ski Weekend

We would rent again. Great location to Purgatory! The shuttle was a huge win! The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms are very comfortable, one of the bedrooms is very very small (3 twin bunk beds) but we made it work and so can you. Very comfortable property! Thank you for a great stay.

It was perfect for our needs, just needed a few more days longer!!

Very little sleep for all of us that night. It was replaced the next afternoon. That night another fire alarm chirped in the middle of the night. We were able to pull that down and throw it on the deck. You should have a schedule to replace batteries and fire alarms.

This place was absolutely perfect for our family’s weekend getaway to Purgatory. We’ve stayed at many VRBOs through the years and this exceeded them all. For starters, the location and neighborhood, although close to the resort, feels very private. The house was extremely clean upon arrival and the view from the kitchen/living room is absolutely beautiful. The bathrooms and kitchen were well-stocked (towels, toilet paper, pots, pans, cooking utensils, etc.). Our kids loved the downstairs living area with the arcade-perfect for hanging out after a day of skiing. Shuttle service to Purgatory made it so easy and check-in/check-out was very convenient. A most comfortable and relaxing stay. Highly recommend!

Spectacular place!

We stayed here with some friends of ours. The place is amazing. Clean, large, exactly as it is listed. The two car garage was wonderful to have access to at the end of each day. The kitchen is well stocked, as well as linens. My only caution (and it’s only because we are from Texas and it was only our second Summer in CO, we usually come for the snow) is the unit doesn’t have AC. Fans are provided and most windows open but it was a shock to those of us that assume it’s standard everywhere! We were always comfortable at night to sleep. This is a unit I would rent again.

The layout of the home is great for socializing while cooking dinner in the well stocked kitchen. The views are stunning. And the decor is a modern eclectic mix of old and new with interesting items to admire throughout. Many rentals claim the ability to sleep a crowd, but then not provide seating for that crowd. There were only 4 of us, but this home offers plenty of lounge and dine space both inside, as well as outside, which is really important in Colorado!We'd love to return and found booking directly with Vacation Rental Collective both a bargain and a great experience.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This beautiful home was a 2 minute walk to the first lift. We honestly felt very lucky to have booked such a clean and beautiful home. The bedrooms were very generous in size and we all had a place to cozy up by the fire. We arrived after a really big snow storm and the roads were all cleared. Be sure to grab food and stick up before you had in, as the town is at least 20/30 mins away, but you are right next to the resort. The only negatives would be a missing filter basket on coffee maker and they are still waiting on the dining room table. Both of these things don’t really impact the stay as you have a k cup coffee maker and a beautiful island. Loved having a washer on site. We will definitely be back!

Great Condo Just Across from Purgatory Entrance

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed in this condo in Jan 2022. It was obviously quite new at the time. It was very clean and comfortable. There was plenty of space, and the linens were nice and fresh. The kids enjoyed splashing and warming up in the hot tub after long days of skiing! The view out the living area is pretty and serene. The garage easily fits 2 cars with one oversized space. The condo is located just across the street from the entrance to Purgatorty. It’s very easy to drive your own car over or to catch the complimentary shuttle back and forth. The kitchen was well stocked with dinnerware, drinkware, and utensils. There were only 2 small negatives. First, the kitchen and lower level tables are plastic folding tables covered by cheap tablecloths. It looks like they were used as craft tables previously as they’ve got paint and other markings all over. However, it does the job. Also, the water is pretty hard, so it has already left a heavy white film on the cooking utensils and some silverware. They’re clean, but it looks bad and unappetizing to cook with. Overall, we had a fantastic stay!
