The property is great. I agree with other visitors that it is loud but if you are staying the area it's the reason you are there. It's convenient to all the nook and cranny bars and nightlife. If you want peace and quiet go stay somewhere else. If you want a taste of liveliness and the charm of the city this is the perfect location. Staff was incredibly polite and helpful. Room was clean and neat. Restaurant was delicious.

Nice hotel close to Temple bar area

Pros: Very clean super helpful staff! Could not of asked for better service
Cons: Just need to know it’s the noisy part of town
Location: Tons of things to do nearby
Only thing I can say bad was it was loud. People playing music and singing until early morning. But we knew that. I wear earplugs because of my husbands snoring so it didn’t bother me

Dear Heidi, Thank you for your recent review. We are committed to making our guests stay with us a memorable one and I thank you for your kind feedback. As for the noise, we are aware of neighborhood influence in night time and unfortunately, as city center hotel we have hindrance of local noise which is beyond our control. I hope noise didn't impact your overall experience with us and I look forward to the next opportunity to welcome you back.

Great location.

Pros: Location and staff
Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location. We walked wherever we wanted to visit. The facility is an older hotel that is in excellent condition. Very clean and up to date.

A Great Dublin Hotel

The Clarence is a fantastic hotel which really seems to capture the feel of Dublin, unlike most of the generic chain properties. It is immaculately clean and well maintained, and the staff, without exception, were friendly and helpful. The location can't be beat, right in the heart of Temple Bar on the river (yes, it can be lively in the late hours of the evening, but what do you expect?), with lots of excellent pubs, restaurants, and shops within easy walking distance. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Dublin, and I heartily recommend The Clarence to anyone visiting that great city.

NOISE from Temple bar can be heard al night long or until 3 am.

Pros: Free Internet, cheerful maids!
Cons: Noisy
The room was immaculate, and I am very picky on this issue. The maid staff were exceptional very cheerful and willing to please.

Nice and clean but too close to Temple bar area NOISEY!!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy, hard beds
Most of the staff were great. The Irish staff were VERY friendly. Some of the front desk staff "french" ? we could NOT understand, and were rude. The bed WAS HORRIBLE! if you want or need sleep...DO NOT stay. Too close to Temple bars.

Just one caveat

We loved the location with the front door at the waterfront and the back door on Temple Bar. The decor was understated elegance, nice woodwork, features. Only caveat is the lack of air conditioning. We were there for a week of warmth and sunshine, a rarety in Dublin, but because it was so warm we left the windows open at night to catch a breeze carrying what sounded like the Russian army singing on a nearby rooftop of one of the establishments along Temple Bar. It was a novelty at ten o'clock, not so much at one o'clock. So be aware of sides.

The Clarence:2 flaws I saw, but would stay again

I had a King bed, but it was 2 twins pushed together. Kind of uncomfortable. Would have been nice to had a King, or a bed that was attached down the center. The tub was just too narrow, and the shower head was one that you had to hold. I am a rather tall, large person, so taking a bath or shower was very awkward. Would put up with the shower and bed again if I ever go back to Dublin . The restaurant was the best I visited in the city. The entire staff was very professional. The hotel was well worth the money. The televisoin could stand to be a larger size. Other than that, A+++++++
