So, be aware that the Temple Bar area of Dublin is busy, crowded, and noisy. Many find that attractive. This hotel is convenient for downtown Dublin attractions, has nice breakfasts, attentive staff, and our room (deluxe double) was a bit dated, but comfortable enough. The entrance is a little strange, as you have to go down a floor to reception, but that's no big deal. So far, so good, but this hotel has one major problem: noise. It's directly opposite the Hard Rock Cafe, and another bar which plays live music at loud levels directly onto the street. The Hard Rock actually has external street speakers. The noise level is extremely intrusive right into the early hours. The hotel provides earplugs, which don't do the job. I travel with a white noise generator, which just about allowed us some sleep. If you have a room at the rear of the hotel, you're shielded from the problem. At the front...boy, are you out of luck. I've stayed in many hotels around the world, and regularly stay in NYC. This hotel room was the noisiest I've ever stayed in, and because of that, I wouldn't stay there again. If you insist on a room at the rear, you may be just fine, but the front? Well, never again for us.
