So, be aware that the Temple Bar area of Dublin is busy, crowded, and noisy. Many find that attractive. This hotel is convenient for downtown Dublin attractions, has nice breakfasts, attentive staff, and our room (deluxe double) was a bit dated, but comfortable enough. The entrance is a little strange, as you have to go down a floor to reception, but that's no big deal. So far, so good, but this hotel has one major problem: noise. It's directly opposite the Hard Rock Cafe, and another bar which plays live music at loud levels directly onto the street. The Hard Rock actually has external street speakers. The noise level is extremely intrusive right into the early hours. The hotel provides earplugs, which don't do the job. I travel with a white noise generator, which just about allowed us some sleep. If you have a room at the rear of the hotel, you're shielded from the problem. At the front...boy, are you out of luck. I've stayed in many hotels around the world, and regularly stay in NYC. This hotel room was the noisiest I've ever stayed in, and because of that, I wouldn't stay there again. If you insist on a room at the rear, you may be just fine, but the front? Well, never again for us.

So, it's in Temple Bar, probably the busiest and noisiest part of Dublin, so bear that in mind. It's a nice enough hotel, good breakfast, helpful staff, slightly strange entrance and exit where you go down a floor to reception. The room, (deluxe double) was fine. The big problem? Noise. We were on the fourth floor at the front of the property, which sits opposite the Hard Rock Cafe and another bar featuring very loud live music. The Hard Rock has outside speakers. The other bar opens up its frontage. The music plays into the early hours, and it's very intrusive. I always travel with a white noise machine, so I coped. The hotel provides earplugs, which really aren't enough. If you are situated at the back of the hotel, you're good. Anywhere at the front, and you're out of luck. I've stayed in hotels all over the world, and stay regularly in NYC. The noise issue is definitely the worst I've encountered. It's a shame, but I won't stay here again.

Hotel is located on busy Fleet street. If you want to be in the middle of things this is the place. Pros are a great breakfast buffet, great location, and funky modern vibe. Cons are no ac, bar across the street can be noisey, overall a good stay.

It is an interesting hotel as you enter you go down a level to get to reception as the front desk upon entry is the security/doorman’s desk. The hotel reception (24/7 front desk) were great and understanding to my early arrival and I was fortunate to check in without any problems. My room was big for a solo traveller, came with a security safe, ear plugs and it overlooked Fleet Street where a lot of the nightlife began. The hotel room does come with some outside music from plenty of pubs across from them (I enjoyed the Buskers Bar), but that is what I booked knowing there’d be live music around till late. The hotel location is around a 3 minute walk from Trinity College, Hop-on Hop-off bus stop 1, Whisky factory and a large shopping strip, also a Tesco express is underneath the hotel. I recommend this hotel as the staff were great and it is central to the city making it convenient to get around. Thank you again to the staff at Temple Bar Inn, you were all wonderful!

The one letdown

The room was nice, had everything you needed for the night with complimentary water and coffee. The restraint served a good breakfast and had board games available for late night drinks and games. The only problem I had was with one server who miss heard what I said about a drink and gave a bit of attitude when I reiterated my drink order. Other then that all the other staff where nice and friendly.

Unbearably hot rooms next to a building site.

Although situated in an ideal spot for seeing Dublin, the Inn could not cope with the warm weather. We tried a variety of permutations to lower the room temperature below 30 without success. It was just about tolerable in the hour or two after dawn, but justg after 7 AM the pneumatic drills and metal saws commenced outside. To add to the misery, feral pigeons cooed 24/7 and herring gulls added to the cacophany, even during the hours of darkness. We were provided with a fan, but this didn't help. The Staff listened to our complaints and interjected with sympathetic words, but this was a nightmare never to be repeated.
