This hotel is in the heart of Temple Bar- directly above a pub. You can walk anywhere for this location. Be aware that you can hear the revelry from the streets in your room.

Our room was over a very loud, busy night club. We should have known something was wrong with the room when we went into the bathroom and there were 2 sets of earplugs. We ended up switching rooms at 11:30 pm. The bass was absolutely awful coming from the night club below is. This room should have never been rented in the first place. The location of this hotel is in “the thick” of Temple Bar. It’s a VERY busy location. If you like that- you will love this hotel. The hotel itself is old, but nicely maintained. Beds are mediocre- a bit hard for my taste. Staff were pleasant and helpful. No fridge in the room.

Don’t expect to be parking on site, but that’s fine. We came in from the airport and the taxi had no issue finding our hotel. The hotel itself is nice, the morning brunch is excellent. The hotel seems clearly to be a bit of a tourist trap trying to attract extra payments for each and every item you want. They have a weight scale for you to check your baggage weight (at a fee), the attached sports bar has fun games (at a fee), you can check in early (at a large fee). Overall, enjoyed the experience, no issues with noise, the rooms were sizeable and comfortable. Just watch out for the extra fees.

Staff was pleasant, however the noise level was ridiculous. From the restaurant/bar that was a joining the hotel. Warning, if you plan to visit with a family on a Friday or Saturday, the music is very loud from 10:00 pm until 2:00 am . The ear plugs are of no use.

Mouldy bathroom and would not change my room

Avoid this hotel! Despite decent ratings it is run down and has a serious problem with mould! I booked a standard double room and they put me in a wheelchair accessible room which had not separate shower or tub - the toilet was in the shower room. There was mould in the grout between tiles and when I showed it to the check in agent he acknowledged it but said he could not change my room because he didn’t have another “in this class”. (I assume this did not mean the hotel was fully booked but that’s he was unwilling to give me a better room at the price I paid through hotels.com). He said I would have to stay the night, and they could change my room the next day. It was too disgusting to shower in the mould, so before I left early in the morning on a full day bus tour I again requested a room change, and staff said it would be done by the time I got back. When I got back it had not been done, but the staff did it then. The new room had a standard tub/shower bathroom, which was clean, but the carpet felt damp and smelled slightly of mould. I checked out the next day. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, and it does not deserve the 4 stars it claims to have…compared to other hotels in Ireland I would rate this 2.5 stars, and it is overpriced for such low quality.
