Unexpected large hotel with nice lobby and communal areas. Large gardens and outside spaces for warm weather visits. Convenient location near Dorking for drivers and convenient for hill walkers. Quiet during my stay which I enjoyed. Car parking unusual but satisfactory. Perhaps it was the quietness in the hotel but service could be slow.

Wouldn’t stay again. Very disappointed.

Unfortunately a rather disappointing stay. Best part was the five minutes we spent checking in. After that it just sort of went downhill. I tried to stay positive but the morning experience and all the accumulative little bits made this review more unpleasant than it should’ve been. I wanted to surprise my husband with a little get away and we were upgraded to a superior room before arriving. I must say it was what I would’ve expected a normal room to look like and nothing superior. The pool, although heater, is seasonal only (I might have missed info about that) which was disappointing. Decided to have a bath instead but the bottom was stained and it was covered in hair. Hairdryer doesn’t work in a superior room and neither did my bedside lamp. The fan in the bathroom sounds like a plane taking off. Got woken up at 7 from music from the breakfast room blaring up to room. Excited about breakfast we went down. Nobody really greeted us even tho sign said wait to be seated.Then we didn’t get seated.The menu was confusing even tho I had paid for breakfast it wasn’t made clear what the deal was and nobody explained nicely.Tea water was cold.All juices warm. No labels telling you what the juices were. My husband breakfast was missing bacon and the eggs were too uncooked.When I asked for bacon and new eggs the lady was very unpleasant.Took another 20 mins and she wasn’t apologetic at all.When checking out he didn’t ask how our stay was and barely said anything.unprofessional

Received a warm welcome from the staff, great to be able to check in at 2pm too! Room was excellent, warm and well appointed. Food in the restaurant was first class and not overly expensive.

Clean throughout was a great positive. Very basic otherwise. Shampoo and soaps attached to the wall about 1.5 metres higher than the bath, can’t be reached without standing up! Bath panel hanging off. Extractor fan doesn’t work. Two sachets of coffee each day, between two guests. Have to walk outside in the rain to get to some rooms. Reception chaotic during check in. No smoking, not even on balconies. Priced as 4 star hotel, 3 star at best with 2 star personal touches

Hospital and welcoming environment. Nicely arranged good decor and great to have the bar facilities. Breakfast was great, lots of choices One issue is the car park. We suffered damage to our car as there are large holes/puddles that are deep and no warning or cones over them

We have stayed at this hotel several times. The rooms are clean and spacious and the beds are comfortable. Good power shower. The staff have always been very friendly and helpful. The negatives are we generally stay in January and the central heating in our room has never worked. The hotel provides an electric heater for the room but it would be better if they could sort out the heating. Also for this standard hotel, the towels are very poor quality - old, thin and very rough.

The pool was closed and this wasn’t made clear at booking. If you want a pool, book somewhere else. But the hotel was very nice, the bed fantastic and the staff were professional and polite. Easy check in and check out, would stay again but in the summer when the pool is open

Very friendly and helpful staff, room very nicely furnished with great amenities such as fridge, kettle etc. but we would have preferred a walk in shower rather than over the bath- water pressure not good either. The single glazed patio doors were old and let in cold air. Apart from that it was a pleasure to stay there.
