Nice 2 night stay

Pros: Location was great Decor was nice Staff was friendly and ready to assist as needed
Cons: Housekeeping staff. more frequent pool cleaning/skimming per day no workers on loud machines at 8:30am or better sound proofing
Location: Literally right in the heart of things on Daytona Beach. AWESOME location.
Okay so it's important to remember where you book... This place is ON the beach, so you can't expect not to see some signs of wear and tear associated with salt in the air etc. It's not going to be perfection, especially at this price point. That said, the a/c was nice and cold. The bathroom was large. The hot water was hot quickly and the shower had nice water pressure. The oceanfront room had an awesome view. The small kitchen was a nice addition for us with a almost full sized fridge, oven/stove and utensils. Flat screen TV was nice (although there was no ability to turn on the closed captioning, which is something important for us). The bedding was soft and the mattresses were nice and firm with no dips or holes to fall into. The internet was fine and it was nice having a totally private balcony. I won't lie and say there were no issues. There certainly were a couple of things but the staff did everything possible to fix the couple of problems that we had. Management needs to crack down a bit on housekeeping staff that handles the rooms between guests, but I'd expect they've handled that with an iron fist by the time you read this. No matter what though, the front desk makes sure any legit issues are handled with deliberate speed.

Solid hotel in a great location

We were in town for a conference, but due to a mix-up on our end, we were not able to get rooms at the Hilton. This hotel was just about a block or so away and the price was right, so we booked here. Staff was nice; the rooms were very good. Comfortable mattresses, plenty big. Nice fridge and microwave. I liked the sliding door into the bathroom. The floor was tile instead of carpet, which I also liked. Breakfast was ok (a few more options would have been nice). Overall we were quite pleased with our stay. However, due to the hurricane earlier a couple of months ago, they were doing renovations, gutting rooms and redoing them. This leads to my only negative comment. Construction started really early (about 5:30 each morning). Hammering, back-up beepers (who backs up for 45 minutes straight?!). Our water was shut off at one point with no warning. Construction went late as well, but that wasn't a big deal to us - they were finished before bedtime. Keep in mind that this will no longer be an issue once the renovations are done which, at the pace they are going, should be well before the tourist season hits in the Spring. So, I definitely recommend this hotel in general, but you might want to ask about the construction schedule before you book if it is in the next couple of months.

weekend getaway

Location: walking distance to the pier and boardwalk. right on the ocean.
Great location, clean rooms, friendly staff. A little disappointed with the continental breakfast. The outside of the building could use a new paint job or something.

Nice people, not worth it!!!!

This hotel room cost me $109 and was the worst room ever. Old furniture. Rust on anything metal. A door we could hardly open. Now for $100 I didn't expect a five star hotel room but there were many other hotels on this site for the same price and this one just happened to be right in a location that we were trying to go but totally not worth it if I could've left and went and rented a room somewhere else I would have. The staff at this hotel were the only part that was nice but I am sorry to say I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Spend an extra 50 bucks and go down to the Hilton.

Nice Hotel it's on beach, GREAT

Mayan Inn is a nice place, the employees are terrific, they really took care of my family and I. They fixed what was not correct with reservation. When I visit Daytona beach, Mayan Inn is where I'm staying.

Dingy and unkempt

I was so disappointed in this hotel, when we pulled up to hotel could see that it was old and in need of remodeling, when we arrived in our room the facets were old and didn't turn well, carpet was old and stained, maid service was minimal and this wasn't the end, they did not close down the pool area at a decent hour so kids were screaming in there till the wee hours of the morning, no staff was monitoring it, the last night of our stay I was again woken up by screaming in the pool which didn't stop until 4 in the morning!!! Never again would we stay there

Hotel desperately in need of repair & Parking Nigh

Pros: the staff and the access to the beach and pool
Cons: every aspect
Location: location was perfect close to shopping and restaurants
This hotel was not the best place to stay, the rooms were clean but the door on the balconies was broken looked, as though someone had broken in and the frame was broken, the room door had a 1 1/12 gap. The water in the tub was heard to turn on and off the shower was an almost shower, the sink and bathtub would not drain properly. By talking to other guest, learned that all rooms were the same the only reason we did not go to another hotel was because there was no vacancy in area hotels due to Memorial holiday weekend. Yet the worse nightmare was the parking they charge for parking and did not have enough available spaces for the guest we had to wait 45 minutes for a place and the person behind us had to wait 1hour and 15 minutes to find a space eventually at a pay lot. The only pulse side to this mini vacation was the individuals who worked at the front desk were exceptionally accommodating, just as with the security guard and the maintenance staff. These men went out of their way to find parking for the guest even working overtime to ensure that the guest could park on the hotel property even if they had to give up their employee parking spots. The cleaning staff was friendly and happy to please guest by providing extra linings and towels or whatever else that a guest might need. However, the continental breakfast ,which you are charged for at $9.00 per person per day was not what many consider, as being a continental breakfast, all they had was waffles, juice, coffee

Mayan hum drum

Pros: Location, location, location!
Cons: Staff needs help, this would greatly improve the whole experience. The overall maintenance and appearance would also go a long way.
Location: Its' right next to the board walk, lots of great restaurants in walking distance. Right on the beach, very important to me.
Our second time staying at this hotel and found the house keeping staff disappointing. Didn't clean our room one day, didn't restock the room properly another day and we only stayed 4 nights. The desk clerk that checked us in barely seems to talk, mumbles most of the time and is slow as molasses. Oh, and I'll be leaving my name and city blank below because I might want to stay there again, maybe????
