I am writing to express my profound disappointment with the service and treatment my partner and I received during our stay at the your Britannia Hotel from Friday, May 23rd to Monday, May 26th, 2025. Our experience was marred by several issues that need to be addressed. Firstly, we encountered rude and discriminatory behavior from a particular (he was even worst with his rudeness and disrespectful behavior last night (Sunday - all I wanted was 2 cups because they had been taken away when I complained how dirty everything was and I left them outside the door in the day time - returning to our room with zero cups - no toilet all weekend - I had to beg and keep walking to reception to get toilet roll - totally not acceptable!!! Toilet roll surely you provide toilet roll whether there is house keeping or not and I should not be made feel like an alien and uncomfortable as a guest, asking for toilet roll - that is wrong) night receptionist on duty during our stay. His attitude was particularly/very unacceptable, and we felt that our requests were dismissed in a manner that suggested bias against us due to my partner being Polish with a beard and my being Black. Additionally, the facilities were not up to standard. Despite understanding that housekeeping might be limited during the bank holiday, basic necessities like towels were refused, and we were denied additional supplies despite our room not being serviced. I did book this place in rush and didnt realise it was britania chain otherwise will stay well clear. Never ever again. Stay away if you have respect for your money and time. Parking fines for every night.

Staff not helpful in reception causing me to pay a parking fine for both nights I stayed. Not directed to input my registration number on a tablet but had to write on a form a led to believe that was all I needed to do. Would not use this hotel again.

Booked room for a family stay including 2 kids: Room size was OK but the condition of the room was not good at all. We saw the dust coming out from the carpet when someone was walking in the room. Lighting was not enough in the room as 2 bulbs were damaged. Wardrobe door was broken and in poor condition. Hence, I had to be cautious when kids are using it. Bathroom curtain was in poor condition and can see that staff is not bothered to change. Moreover, exhauster was not working in bathroom which made other member difficult to use it. Personally, I don't prefer to use this hotel again.

Avoid - cheap but not cheerful

Absolutely awful. Please avoid this hotel. I stayed here for two nights and here are my observations: Bathroom - fan stays on all night regardless of whether the door is shut and the lights are turned off making the room really noisy as the walls are super thin. No shower mat so the floor gets soaked as you get out. Some ridiculous tap filter so couldn't fill my water bottle properly. Bedroom - bed incredibly hard and uncomfortable. Sit on it for 5 mins and your bottom is numb. Sleep on your side and your hips hurt after 5 minutes. No plug sockets near bed - had my 3 metre cable with me and it still couldn't reach the top of the bed. Very cold in the room - heating didn't work Wifi absolutely shocking - kept dropping out Could hear everything going on in the room next door Doors banging left right and centre at all hours Room not cleaned after first night - would expect a bed make and clean towels/toiletries Toiletries awful and really tiny - the shower dispenser was full of water and no soap/shampoo Toilet paper like tissue paper I had to go and buy earplugs to try to sleep the 2nd night. Ropey Europa - you aren't wrong!!!!
