The property was very small and next to an active ambulance station.
The only good thing about this property was that it had air conditioning. The bad points about the instructions and the gite were as follows:
The map showing the location was inaccurate and we would never have looked into this industrial estate to find the countryside gite that we thought we had booked.
The active ambulance station next door started work early and thus disturbed us with frequent opening and closing of doors and starting of engines.
The gite was very small.
The patio where we could have perhaps sat for breakfast was overlooked by the only window in the next gite.
The TV was so small that while trying to watch the World Cup, we could not see the ball at times so therefore very frustrating.
The tap to the wash basin in the bathroom was not fixed to the worktop and therefore moved considerably.
The electric hobs for cooking were within the metal sink draining board. At times the metal surround to the hobs were so hot that it was possible to burn oneself.
There was lots of rubbish in the surrounding areas and lots of early and late comings and goings to the buildings nearby.
We were so disappointed with the gite that we left 3 days early and ended up staying in expensive hotels thus adding considerably to the cost of what was meant to be a nice relaxing holiday for my wife's 70th birthday! We would definitely not use or recommend this gite and wonder if HomeAway actually inspects gites on their website; I don't expect so! Also it is a shame that we cannot post pictures on this site.
