I read the other reviews and almost didn't stay here BUT this was the only hotel on the beach. Here is what you need to know... 1.) Parking is $10.00, that is because it is city beach parking. 2.) When arriving the only sign is for Holiday Inn 3.) The hotel has NOT been kept up at all. I have stayed in worse, but for this price you need to understand what you are getting - you are getting the beach, not a 5 star room at the Ritz. 4.) The staff was amazing and I do mean AMAZING! 5.) The beds were comfortable 6.) I stayed in a cabana room directly on the water, the tv didn't work, the room could have been much cleaner, the lock/door handle on the entry door to the room was pretty much falling off. 7.) I saw the reviews about "roaches" I am from Corpus and yes there are some of these, but they are not roaches, they are some kind of beetle. They were not in the room but were on the patio. 8.) My checkin was extremely fast and efficient. I had my keys within 5 minutes. 9.) There aren't many food places close by, nothing walkable. Closest is going to be downtown which would be whataburger (yuck) or a nice Mexican food place called La Playa (highly recommend). There are several bar/restaurants downtown as well, if you like that atmosphere. So again, know what to expect... this is not going to be luxury. The price is high because of the beach location. Period!
