More like a a very large swimming hole than a very small lake, this patch of blue sits nestled in between the valley floor and the higher elevation peaks of Greenleaf and Table Mountain.
This is an American Dipper!  Thank you Jayne Buckley Sikes (as an aside, how in the h3ll do you know all this stuff?)

It spent a good ten minutes bobbing its head into the water all over the lake, apparently trying to fish out some chow.

Pretty darned cute, and it wandered within five feet of me as I stood behind a thin blind of saplings, never paying me any mind.
Had to old-school it today.  The forecast said "don't bring your camera."  So, of course, the weather was fine and I went past scene after scene aching to capture an image.  Fortunately, the iPhone is never too far out of reach.

So...I reached back and snapped off a few jpeg's and hoped for the best.
