"We paid for a 1 bedroom suite because we were traveling with our kids. Homewood Suites in Clovis gave us a studio instead, without any notice at all. When I asked about it, I was told they must have switched it without notifying us. That is ridiculous.
Then they said they were sold out, so there was no way to fix it. Their idea of compensation was 15,000 Hilton points, which does not come close to making up for being put in the wrong room type. Hotels.com then told us that because we accepted the room, even unknowingly, there was nothing they could do.
So to sum it up, we paid for one thing, got something else, were never told, and then got boxed into keeping it with no real remedy. Terrible service, poor communication, and zero real accountability.
I would avoid this hotel if your room type actually matters."
