The Engle house was a darling lil home in the middle of a city. It has lots of design delights for the eye including adorable flower porcelain tiling in the guest bathroom. The sheets were soft and home kept at a great temp so sleeping was great. It is in the middle of two highways that at times had traffic right outside your window — given proximity, the house was surprisingly quiet although an occasional siren will break through as in any city. Also, it is part of a residential enclave with some lawn and a pergola/gazebo outside (not sure if the home has permitted access but it was pretty). The host was very prompt with confirmation and checkin info. It was about 1 to 1.5 miles from (what I perceive as) the heart of Charleston but lots of great architect, stores and vibe to absorb on our walk there. The one draw back was additional service charges that I hadn’t expected but may be part of all bookings of which I hadn’t been aware with prior bookings. All in all, my college roommate and I enjoyed our stay for a micro reunion many years post-grad:)
