Nice place, close to downtown Chamonix (by car)
Pros:The rooms have new fixtures, and are very clean. Double glazed windows keep out any noise. The staff were friendly and gracious. Dining room view.
Cons:Checkin, and checkout. I requested a room with two beds, but got a room with one bed. I suggest you call the night before to verify any request.
Location:10 minute drive east of downtown.
The hotel is about 10 minutes (by car) east of downtown Chamonix, and it is easy the miss the turn off to its street the first time you approach. But given the height of the building it's easy to navigate back to it. There is lots of parking, but when we returned each evening, every spot was filled, and there were always several cars parked on the side of the parking access road. Some rooms have balconies with a wonderful view of Mont Blanc to the west. The property appears to be under new management, and there were some subtle signs of the work in the hallways. The elevators look new (and feature truly garish lighting). And the staff are still figuring out the computerized check(in/out) process. However, the staff were very gracious in my face-to-face dealings. The room was a little small, but fine for two people. The bathroom had new fixtures, and the both bed and bath rooms were spotless. Kudos to the housekeeping staff. The dining room has glass walls and faces the west with lovely views of Mont Blanc. (At the moment, spoiled by a construction crane several blocks away) Adjacent to the dining room is a patio for outdoor dining in the summer. And beyond that is rectangular swimming pool. The breakfast buffet was very good. Dining room staff were friendly and gracious. Truly a lovely place to have a leisurely breakfast while gazing at the mountains!
