Stunning venue for our wedding, everything we could think of was waiting for us upon our arrival, and our guests were stunned at the venue and rooms. We ended up using all the amenities; the pool, the kayaks, and all the living space. We will definietly be back for our anniversary!

HO-LY COW!! We are a family of planners, detailed oriented, with a dash of OCD...lol This House Was Something We Didn't Know Existed. I don't even know where to start with Magnolia Overlook. I drove to Cedar Bluff on a whim looking for a wedding venue in January of 2025 and the second I stepped on property, I knew this was the only place I could see myself getting married. My dream was to have a place where our families could stay together on the property and celebrate for more than just one night and this place was PERFECT.Fast forward ten months to wedding weekend, and being a guest was a completely different experience. Everything you could imagine is taken care of for you. Destinie is the most attentive hostess. We needed a notary, she had one. We needed an extension cord, she had one. The day of the wedding, she was a well oiled machine. She was on top of EVERYTHING. She literally made the process so seamless. She came up to me and my husband (heart eyes) and asked us what drinks we wanted, what kind of pizza we wanted, what salad dressing we wanted, etc. Every single person asked me, "where on earth did you find this place?" because it is truly a magical place. Not only is the property beautifully maintained, but you cannot beat the view of the lake during sunset. Magnolia Overlook made our wedding weekend greater than anything we ever could have asked for.

So beyond happy we chose the Magnolia Overlook to host our wedding. We stayed Thursday-Sunday so we could spend time with our family and friends. Everyone was raving about how absolutely beautiful and comfortable their stay was. The grounds are breathtaking. It seems the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need. As for the wedding, Destinie is a rockstar!!! Working with her for the wedding was so seamless and easy. From creating a plan, going over all the specifics I didn’t even think of, last minute changes she gracefully accommodated, helping with tasks we were running behind on, making sure my husband and I had fresh drinks, to the very end of the night… the list goes on, and I cannot say enough positive things. It is evident she truly cares about the experience of the couple and guests. Everyone made comments about hospitable and great she was - couldn’t agree more! Our bartender, Haley, was also phenomenal! Everyone was so sad when the weekend came to an end. If you’re considering hosting an event here, make the decision! I would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you to the whole Magnolia Overlook team for such an unforgettable experience!

Dave and Ann provided an amazing and beautiful home that suited the needs of our large family perfectly. Our group was a gathering of families with children of all ages. Lovely clean getaway in Alabama

The kitchen was well stocked and the house was clean and neat. We enjoyed our stay and the hosts were very helpful! It was a little tight with our group of 51 since it was cool outside but it worked out fine. It would be really nice to come when it is warmer outside! Plenty of outdoor seating, a playground for the children etc.

This is fantastic property.

Our family has been meeting every 2 years for about 40 years. Our family has changed over the years. We have 3 generations and this property was perfect. We even had some rain but because of the fabulous patio off the house it was not an issue. Pool was nice to have. We rented a boat for tubing. The lake was not busy so we had a wonderful time. We had little kids so the playground with in ground trampoline was perfect. Owners and management available if we needed anything. Best property that we have had in a long time. We will be back.

60th Birthday Gathering

This was the perfect place for my birthday gathering! The pictures don't do it justice. Destinie is a gem! She was so helpful and just so easy to work with. I was glad I got to meet her when we arrived. She showed me the new additions that they are working on and now we have to go back! When they say "you don't need to bring anything with you" they mean it. They supply EVERYTHING! Bring your fishing poles though. Several in our group of 30+ spent a whole day on the lake. I loved the outdoor spaces that are provided for gathering. Book it, you won't regret it!!

LOVE THIS PROPERTY

This was our second year have this property as our Home for the Holidays and my family absolutely loved our stay. Fortunately the weather was much better this year and we were able to enjoy the outdoors much more. There is plenty of space, nice and cozy, clean and the hosts were absolutely amazing. They checked on us once we arrived and stayed intouch to make sure everything was ok. We have a couple of joggers in the family and they enjoyed their morning jogs near the lake. It is an absolutely lovely property and I'm sure we will be back.

Fall Perfection

We started looking at the Magnolia Compound quite a while before we booked (and then we spent over a year anxiously awaiting our stay). We booked the property for my daughter's wedding - she wanted a fall wedding with beautiful fall leaves as the background. Communication was 5 stars from beginning to end. The property was amazing beyond words. Destinee..... there aren't enough positive words that could be said about her. She's simply the best! I could write a book about how incredible every detail was, but just trust me, if you're thinking about booking, do it right now.

Another amazing stayb

We are so thankful for this peaceful place. Our ladies group at church gathered here. The owners were very patient with our group as the booking this time was a bit unorganized…no fault of theirs in any way. But, once again this property was just what we needed. Not as many could make it as planned as we’d just suffered a great loss at our church days before the trip…but for those that were able, this was a place of solace and peace…along with joy and laughter! We appreciate the beautiful lodging, gathering spaces and attention to detail! It’s hard to find somewhere this special!

Wonderful vacation!

Amazing stay, amazing location! We thoroughly enjoyed our family reunion and the house met our every expectation. Lots of things to do - swimming, kayaking, hot tubs, volleyball, outdoor chess, playground, trampoline, ping pong and on and on. Everything we possibly needed for cooking large meals we found in the kitchen! The owner is outstanding to work with and made our stay so enjoyable. Probably the best VRBO we've ever stayed in!

My husband and I had our wedding here. We absolutely loved it! The coordinator at the venue was amazing! She was always running around offering help. She was also a huge help with the setup process. The actual venue was also great! We loved being able to stay the whole weekend after the wedding and not having to rush out the next day. The new pool they added was also super nice! Loved having all of the amenities and an overall great place to stay with lots of fun activities to do. Would definitely recommend for both a wedding or just family reunion.

Perfect stay

We were so impressed with this property that we booked it for our wedding venue the moment we saw it. It was one of the cleanest, well maintained homes we’ve stayed in. They have put so much time and effort into making sure everything is absolutely perfect and that you have everything you could possibly need. The property and surrounding area is simply gorgeous. Our friends and family loved the place so much they keep saying they felt like we were giving them a wedding gift. Destine answered all my questions quickly and anticipated most of our needs. You can easily tell how much Dave and Ann care about their property. We will definitely be back for our anniversary’s.

Amazing Family vacation location

We rented for our annual family vacation and it is always difficult to find space for 25 with things to do for all ages. The Magnolia Overlook was PERFECT for us! The houses ( main, rose, and den) were perfect to accommodate each family/ couple and kiddos. The lake, pool, hot tub, and area for board games/cards/wiffle ball worked out well. We do have elderly parents (80’s) so we could drive them up to pool which was nice. A golf cart would be great as well if you can bring or maybe they can add to property. We did not have the boat during our stay but found plenty to do without. The other amenities provided were awesome! Towels, coolers, commercial ice makers, paper towels, toilet paper, spices, etc were great to have. This was the first property we did not have to go buy new knives and pots and pans to use! Dave and Chris checked on us frequently and were super nice! Our family really enjoyed our time together in a beautiful home. Thank you so much!!!

Family vacation

This property was beyond our expectation. We rented the entire place for our family. It worked out great. The property was beautiful, clean and very well maintained. We met Dave and his right hand man, Chris. What wonderful people. We learned some history of the property which was interesting to hear. The 3 houses included with this property were all beautiful, well stocked with supplies and clean. The owners are AWESOME and were always available to answer our questions throughout the year. The pictures and video were very helpful to watch to help us all prepare for our visit. The new pool and playground were a great addition, as the little ones occupied them with joy. The boats and kayaks were a definite plus for added entertainment. All 24 of us thoroughly enjoyed our stay and thank Dave and Ann to the fullest extent.

Excellent family retreat

Everything about this property was wonderful and pleased the whole family!!! The amenities and cleanliness were perfect! For 40 people to have the same opinion is amazing and we will definitely look to come back again! (Something we have not done in the past) It filled all of our requirements with sleeping, gathering and activities. We are ready to go back again today!!! Dave and Ann were the perfect hosts and were there for any of our needs - Thank you for helping to make our reunion the wonderful event we treasure.
