The Peaceful Hidden House Bungalow, Bed & Breakfast

As you come up the long, tree-covered driveway and see 'The Hidden House', you'll feel a lot like Hansel & Gretel. Some call it magical, others call it enchanting. You'll be at the top of the hill but nothing tops the peace and tranquility. It's the perfect get away.

The cozy 1000sq ft 2-story Bungalow is only 10 minutes off I-5. It was built in the 70's as a get-a-way in the woods. It boasts many recent updates while holding a lot of original character. The main house was added in the 90's, but the Bungalow is still detached, and very private. So quiet that you may never see or hear the owners in the main house, and they may never see or hear you.

The reviews don't lie; the Bungalow has everything, and that means everything you might need for a comfortable stay... especially the high-quality Cal-King, and XL Twin beds…who doesn't need a great night sleep?! The kitchen is nicely stocked with coffee, fresh cream, condiments, spices and snacks. In the morning enjoy making gluten-free buttermilk pancakes and eggs. AJ’s special pancake mix, fresh eggs, real butter, and maple syrup provided.

Gaze at the wildlife from your swing on the covered back patio, the side porch or your own private deck above the chicken atrium. Take in all the expansive surrounding views!

In the winter you can light the logs prepared for you in the wood stove and snuggle up to a good movie, book, board game, or your favorite shows on the smart TV.

The bungalow is also the perfect place to bring work and bunker down at the desk with a picture window. Starlink gives enough wifi signal for everyone, especially for posting your bungalow vacation on social media. Either unplug from your cell phone, since service can be sketchy, or stay connected with wifi-calling.

What a wonderful stop. I wish we had more time there, but we only stayed one night on our way between Portland/St Helens and Rainier. The house is secluded, as shown in the listing. The balcony overlooks a gorgeous forested valley and we enjoyed just sitting out there and listening to the birds both in the evening and in the morning. The chickens were amusing and they provided part of a wonderful breakfast that was included. The bed was very comfortable, which allowed us to sleep in. The generous check out time was one of the reasons that clinched this spot with travel days on both sides of our stay. The bungalow was spacious, and we were able to do laundry. Host communication was good. Again, I wish we had scheduled more than one day here as it was very peaceful and comfortable. We would absolutely stay here again next time we're in the area.

Our stay was absolutely perfect and a wonderful midpoint on our northwest adventure. From the bedroom to the location you won’t find a more comfy spot to stay in. We had an amazing time winding down to the collection of movies over breakfast for dinner from fresh eggs and homemade pancake mix provided by the hosts.

I can’t speak highly enough about this property!!! My husband and I stayed here just before Valentine’s Day and had the best experience. We loved snuggling up on the comfy couch, watching movies, playing games, and reading in front of the wood-burning fireplace. The bed is super comfortable and the kitchen is pretty well stocked with cooking utensils and some basic seasonings. The pancake mix, syrup, and eggs that are provided made for a delicious breakfast, too! If you’re staying during the snowy or rainy seasons, be sure to have a 4WD/AWD vehicle because the driveway is extremely steep (AJ did offer to pick us up at the bottom of the driveway if we didn’t think our car could make it, though!). AJ is an amazing host and has created the most beautiful hidden vacation spot! The Bungalow exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to go back!

Bungalow was beautiful, well stocked, and in a quiet area. The bed was extremely comfortable. We enjoyed the chickens and the breakfast was delicious! Easy drive to Mt St Helens and Astoria Oregon which were both on our list of things to do. Thank you AJ for the quick response to our messages and for offering such a nice place to stay.

A Great Stay

We had a wonderful stay at the Hidden House. The suite is beautifully decorated with many lovely features. The kitchen is very well laid out and has all the features needed to have a gourmet meal. The owner left us many little extras including fresh eggs, real cream and pancake mix ready to use. The house is as described in the listing if not better when you actually see it. The location is beautiful and very quiet. Would definitely recommend and look forward to returning again. Andy & Karen

Perfect hidden getaway!

I wish I could give this place 20 stars. My husband and I stayed overnight for a quick and quiet getaway for our anniversary. Communication with the host was incredible and they were so friendly. The morning pancakes were literally to die for!! It was stormy outside during our stay and it was so relaxing to just hang out and choose movies to watch and games to play from their collection! We would absolutely stay here again.
