I loved that the hotel was located inside an authentic colonial-era home. I enjoyed the free breakfast and rooftop pools to cool down in the afternoons. The bed was comfortable, although my room was a bit too snug even for one person. The front door of the hotel must be opened by a staff member at all times, which is something to keep in mind. The hotel also does not allow guests.

This hotel was a great choice for our first visit to Cartagena, Colombia. It's perfectly located in the heart of the Getsemani neighborhood, with tons of restaurants, shops, and nightlife within a short walking distance. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. The hotel was very clean and the food was good. Checking in and out was smooth. The hotel has free Wi-Fi, a swimming pool and jacuzzi on the rooftop. Basically it looks like the pictures on their website. I would highly recommend this hotel and I'll be returning for my next trip to Colombia.

My recent 5-night stay at Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani in Cartagena was absolutely wonderful! The hotel itself is lovely, but what truly stood out was the incredible staff. Juan Carlos, in particular, went above and beyond to make my stay memorable. And let's not forget the breakfast – it was simply delicious and such a great way to start each day. It was within short distance to all the main attractions, super close to everything. I highly recommend Hotel Monaguillo de Getsemani for anyone visiting Cartagena!

Overall a great stay in an Excellent Location! The room was large, beautiful and comfortable. Loved the shower, the bathrobes, slippers, and Terrace. Only thing that needs improvement is the breakfast, as it was very basic and bare minimum. Wifi was great as well.

It’s in a good location, but there was no hot water, they charged me extra when bringing a guest in for even a short time which they could not explicitly show me in their policy despite no such policy being advertised online or at any point during booking.

The hotel is beautiful, clean and beds are comfortable. The staffs are very respectful. Breakfast is good. The place is centrally located and walking distance to everything. My only problem is their generator malfunctioned during the power outages on our last day. We don’t have water and power for a while so we have to go to another hotel to use their facility. Monthly generator maintenance should be done to avoid this inconvenience in the future.

Would not recommend this property. Booked this hotel for 1 night stay because it was very late and I wanted somewhere to stay so I can figure out the remainder of my trip. I arrived and it wasn’t until I spoke with the man (who didn’t even want to come to the door and assist me) only to find out that the booking was for tomorrow. I asked if there was anyway it can be applied for tonight’s stay instead & if they could accommodate me, and he said no. That evening I contacted Expedia for a refund and they said they would reach out to the hotel to get it situated. I also wrote the hotel on Expedia to which they told me no. Please be aware that this hotel is also in an area that looks VERY SKETCHY at night. I didn’t even want to stay outside to figure out another available hotel, I ended up going back to the airport because of how scary the outside of the hotel looked. There were people just watching me standing outside looking which made me feel like a target. Would not recommend this hotel at all.
