The women who work here were very kind and helped us out even though we did not speak any Spanish, they were very friendly and accommodating and served delicious breakfast each morning. Definitely would recommend and would stay here again if ever in Cartagena again!

I was threated with being kicked out of the hotel for reporting it ae unsafe. Then, I was "permitted" to stay another night, but purposelyfully given townels littered with ants that have wings with my soap and other items for the day... which of course I immediately threw away and sealed the bathroom window I heard someone messing with as best as I could. The following morning, I awoke to approximately 8 of these flying ants in my room (with 2 in my boots) so I was able to get that day refunded, but my cousin paid the following 2 day in cash without informing me so I need that back while I find an acceptable hotel. (I've lived here 11 months and that has never happened during rain this year or 20 years ago, so that excuse doesn't cover it, or of course the towel.)

Location doesn't compensate for condition

Run down and tired with an electrical box hanging from a wire fully exposed 1 foot off the floor. Poor accessibility to guest rooms, unpaved walkways with gravel. Reception was swelteringly hot and incredibly cramped with room for no more than 3 people. Location was ideal but I would prefer to pay an extra $30/night to stay in an international hotel with full amenities and service.

Nice old style home close to the beach

Good central place to go everywhere, staff is great and friendly. If you are an spoiled american that likes resort type vacation? this is not for you. If you just need a clean bed and clean bath for a very reasonable price then this place is great.

Overpriced motel quality

Overpriced based on peak season price surge. The room was clean, the staff was friendly and the breakfast was delicious but the place could use a new coat of paint. The location was fine, by the beach at bocagrande and 20 min walk from the old city. The biggest complaint we had was no hot water for showers... It got warm but there wasn't a way to control the temperature.

Deceiving pictures and information abound !!.

The rooms are not as big as they appeared in the brochures. I am not an expert in Bedding, but I had the impression that I was resting on an Spring Box. The Air Conditioning lacks a lot of performance and mine leaked on top of my pillow the last two nights of my stay, so I had to move my bed away from the wall but that made it impossible to open the door forcing me to move my bed every time I had to leave the room and leave the leak to soak up my pillow,( they provide enough pillows to be able to keep one dry, at least.). If you are lucky, the Maid will not shot your AC off when she had finished cleaning your room, do you remember I told you the system is not very effecient ?. Make your own conclusion !!. Good luck with the WiFi !!. I hope you do not need the modern ways of communication, there is not phones in the rooms. so if you need for some friends to contact you and your High Tech Mobile Phone does not operate properly with their Country Systems and Networks, be prepare to spend a lot of time at the front desk using their land line but remember there is not any Air Conditioning on that part of the facilities, either !!. The staff is nice, but when you tell them that something is not O.K. their answer is usually unrelated and I was waiting for a word of remorse or an apology of some kind, but it never came or was offered !!. The breakfast they provide, included in the price of the room, is decent and was a nice touch. For the price I paid, I had to say it was So So !!.

Simple but adequate, very friendly staff

Our stay was very pleasant. The hotel is simple, but adequate. A little rough around the edges, but with a charming colonial feel. The staff were extremely pleasant, accommodating, and helpful. Would stay here again.

Run down hotel

We were very disappointed in this hotel. The pictures must have been taken quite a while ago. It is a run down hotel that needs immediate attention. There were broken & missing tiles in the lounge area as well as a couple of steps. We had paid for a week. We talked to management about our feelings of not wanting to stay there. They offered us a better room on the 2nd floor. We were unable to take this room as I had recently had a knee replacement. Due to this they did give us a refund. That is the only good thing about this hotel. They do have excellent staff.

Super staff made my day

Arrived early with a full backpack. The staff not only prepared my room but arranged for breakfast. Didn't expect such great service on such short notice but everyone went out of their way to make sure my stay was comfortable.

We had a horrible experience. Our room had no hot water, no shower nozzle, yes, water (cold) came out of wall like out of a garden hose....no wifi...rodent fesces.....odor in room...pillows like marshmellows....waiter made face when we asked for 3rd cup of coffee
