In a world of cookie cutter hotels, the Anchor In is a refreshing old school style motel. The staff is wonderful- friendly and helpful. Although the motel is no longer a family run operation, they know the history of the place and take pride in carrying on the operations so lovingly curated over decades by the family who used to own it. The motel is both right on the harbor with perfect views and close to town for easy walking. Some reviews mention that rooms are outdated. I prefer to look at it as a vintage style; nothing was in disrepair, we had everything we needed, and it was impeccably clean. The bed was really comfortable. The water pressure in the shower was great. WiFi was strong. Our room was huge, and had a private balcony, which had it not been winter we would have enjoyed. My only complaint is the site fees. I can forgive a resort charge of some sort because there are some amenities available, but $45 is really steep, especially in winter when the outdoor pool is closed. Breakfast is included but it is very basic. My real issue, though, was the parking fee. It’s outrageous to charge parking at a motel which is by definition designed for motorists with parking directly outside the rooms. As we were checking out, I found out the Anchor In is now owned by Margaritaville, which explains it, but it left a sour taste to an otherwise lovely experience.

I believe Sandi at the desk gave me the best greeting and welcome I have ever received from a hotel. She wasn't 'corporate' but very personable. She didn't just tell us about the breakfast, the pool, etc...she took us in a small tour to show us. The room where we had breakfast was very homey with a roaring fire in the fireplace.

Since we stayed here 2 years ago the Anchor Inn went downhill . It all started when we checked in, we received a lecture about how we had to be with our service dogs at all times. We were in room 126. There was a slippery large pool of water from the ice machine in the foyer going into the hallway for rooms 100 etc... Our luggage wheels and shoes were wet, and we had a service dog that got wet feet. This was never corrected for our 3 day stay even with house keeping crossing it many times. The plumbing is old in the room, the shower had to be jiggled, the rod where the soap goes came off, a hole in the wall behind the bathroom door, the toilet started running in the middle of the night for no reason. Then there is a resort fee for absolutely nothing . They claim for wifi ,a pool and parking that is standard these days. The bed and room itself was nice but not resort quality. The biggest plus is the view it's fantastic. But not worth $250 a night plus resort fee. This hotel needs a lot of basic maintenance.

Gorgeous room with balcony over looking the harbour. Lovely attentive staff. Loved the fire pit and the evening with the fireplace roaring. Breakfast was limited but fresh. We loved the location and would highly recommend this hotel.

Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but not particularly memorable.The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were polite. The room was clean and decently sized, with a comfortable bed and a balcony. However, the decor felt a bit dated, and somethings were a little bashed up. Breakfast was adequate — standard continental fare, nothing bad, but nothing special either. I appreciated the availability of coffee and lemonade in the lobby throughout the day. In short, it’s a solid choice if you're looking for a comfortable and convenient place to stay, but don’t expect anything luxurious or standout. I’d stay here again if I needed to, but it wouldn’t be my first pick.

Older hotel with great views of the harbor. Easy onsite parking. Free breakfast and wine and cheese service late afternoon. Nice pool area overlooking the harbor. Not close to restaurants or shopping, though (15-20 minute walk). Good central location for exploring the other Cape Cod towns.

The rooms are old and dirty. There was mold in the de-humidifiers, our floors were damp and dirty, beds were mid...I would not recommend or stay at this place again.

Property location is excellent - on the harbor but short drive/walking distance to Main Street with many shops/restaurants. Plenty of parking. Staff is very friendly! We were greeted with a nice welcome and a tour of the property. We were given great restaurant suggestions! Common areas were fresh and looked to have been updated recently. Our room was on the second floor with only stair access. We are both seniors and it took some effort to get our luggage up/down to/from our room. The room was spacious and clean with a safe balcony that had a nice view of the harbor. The beds were comfortable and clean and there was plenty of seating and storage in the room and on the balcony (seating). There was a strong smell of cleaning products in the room. The room could use a bit of a refresh - paint was scuffed in several areas and it was difficult to access the coffee maker due to very little space. The water pressure in the shower was light so it took a while to thoroughly rinse my long-ish hair. At check-in they offer a choice of daily housekeeping or a basket of towels, coffee, toilet paper, etc. be left at the room. We liked that we had options! We chose a basket. We left our room at 8:30 and returned around 1 and we were happy to see the basket (bag) was by the door when we arrived. Unfortunately, the bag had only fresh towels, nothing else. Free breakfast offered good variety. No recycle bins in our room. Didn't notice any in the common areas either.
