First things first... DO NOT got to the Steak and Lobster special restaurant! For the considerable additional charge you get food that is poorly prepared, ineptly served, and get to experience it in a room that can best be described as depressing. I didn't stop to check and am pretty sure the food was prepared someplace else and carted in. The image that came to mind was Gourmet Night from Faulty Towers but without the humor. Our room was clean and comfortable except for a couple things. The bed was hard as a rock. Also, there was a lighted vanity mirror in the sink area that did not light up but gave us a shock every time we touched it. We complained and they replaced the bulb but didn't fix the other problem. It took several hours of discussion before the maintenance staff agreed that we shouldn't have to wear shoes to wash our brush our teeth and it was a general hazard in any event. They replaced the mirror and all was well after that. Otherwise, the best part of the GPRLRC was the staff. Excepted for the "Mirror of Death" they were universally pleasant and helpful. The food, except for the Steak/Lobster restaurant, was above average for all inclusive hotel and the drinks were on par. We were a bit put off by the lack of evening activities. They had only one thing scheduled for each evening and nothing happened on the evening it was scheduled. Overall the property was OK. I would go back if I had to and intend to consider other options prior to my next visit.

Excellent location; with in walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Friendly staff! Entertainment could be better. To much pressure to attend time share meeting. Food was good. Rooms were nice and clean.

I read the reviews prior to my visit. In our opinion, we had a tough time matching those bad reviews to what we experienced! Like any hotel, they have things they can work on but overall for the value it was great for us! And trust me, my wife is rather picky. I called ahead and they had the room set up beautifully and my wife loved it. The staff was very friendly and made our stay special. You don’t have to tip but if my service was exceptional, I gave tips. And one of the servers at the buffet remember us and greeted us everytime he saw us and even recalled our drink orders! I don’t remember his name but he was great. (Indira R) from concierge was on point and actually greeted us upon arrival! Douglas also from concierge was cool as well and gave great suggestions for off property activities! I don’t drink anymore but there was alcohol offered at every turn, lol. My thought the drink were weak, but she was able to get a drink whenever she wanted. Food was okay, not great, but filling. One of 2 biggest knocks would be when they offer you breakfast the next day with gifts, it’s actually a presentation for their vacation club, but Douglas’s presentation was good and we decided to go. When we got there the next morning, they asked if we were vacation owners already, which we are and we opted out of the presentation. They could also utilize the bar area better with music vice tv playing! And jeans are long pants for dinner!

We originally booked a standard room but decided to upgrade to a villa, and we were really happy with it. Room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The air conditioner worked great, and it was fairly quiet, so it didn't keep us up at night. All rooms throughout the hotel have ocean views, so you really can't go wrong with that. All staff was extremely courteous and friendly. We weren't ever questioned about buying into a time share as others have posted. The one thing that I appreciated the most was the quality of food. After having stayed at several other all inclusive resorts, this place had the best quality and variety of food. Lots of choices at the buffet; it wasn't the same thing every night, and we didn't get tired of it. Also, food was always fresh; nothing was left sitting too long. The staff was constantly monitoring the food and would change out trays frequently. Good salad and fruit bar-all fresh-no bruised or soggy fruits and veggies. My kids also loved the cafe that served gelato all day! The drinks were a little on the sweet side (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic). I think they add sugar to everything, even the fruit juice. The resort has lots of activities by the pool during the day, but the pool closes at 8:00 every night, so no evening swims for anyone. This is one of the best places in which we have stayed, and we would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Cancun.

Very nice resort right on the beach. Everyone that worked there was so friendly and service was amazing. They also had an incredible activities staff (Joaquin was on every of our favorites) and lots of fun things to do. Buffet food was much better than I expected it to be as I had read some reviews to the contrary but they had great variety and quality. Their Mexican night is a must do! I especially recommend the Italian restaurant on site. It is part of the all inclusive package but you will need to make a reservation. Alejandro was amazing as our waiter there. I also recommend a room upgrade to the one with its own pool. Our friends upgraded to a villa and for a little more money that is something I might do next time we are there. Swim up bar was great and we loved Alicia who was always providing drinks on the beach or poolside. Rooftop bar was a great place to relax after dinner. All in all a vacation to remember! We would go back again in a heartbeat!

Fun and sun

Pros: We were very pleased with the hotel staff they were more than helpful and very pleasent. The ground were well taken care of and very clean.
Cons: The only complaint we had is that there was a fee of $16.00 dollars a day for us to use the fitness equipment.
Location: There was shopping and restaurants nearby. We walked at least 10 miles a day.
We really enjlyed our recent vacation to Cancun Mexico. The weather was beautiful everyday sunny and 86. The water was a beautiful blue but the seaweed was a problem druing the time we were there.
