I am writing to formally express my disappointment with the unacceptable condition of Room 112 during my recent stay at your hotel. The cleanliness of the room was extremely poor, and more concerningly, the entire room was filled with the strong and unpleasant smell of marijuana. It was clear that someone had smoked in the room prior to my arrival. As a result, I was unable to sleep due to the overpowering odor, which persisted throughout the night. To make matters worse, the smell permeated all of my belongings — including my suitcase and clothes — leaving them with a lingering stench the next day. This experience fell far below the standard of cleanliness and comfort that I expect from any accommodation. I kindly request that you investigate this matter seriously and take appropriate action. I would also appreciate a response outlining the steps you will take to prevent such incidents from affecting future guests, as well as compensation for the inconvenience and discomfort caused.

⭐️⭐️ "Budget Motel: Where Expectations Go to Nap" If you’re looking for somewhere cheap-ish to crash in Calgary, this motel will technically get the job done—for $120 a night, which in today’s economy apparently counts as a bargain. The room was clean enough, no horror stories there. But the plumbing? Oh, the plumbing was on its own journey. The sink and bathtub were more like birdbaths—water went in and decided to stay awhile. Maybe forever. It was less "draining" and more "marinating." The bed was… there. Not the worst, not the best—just a firm reminder that you're not at home. Think "slightly upgraded futon" vibes. The real kicker? The property itself was visibly dirty. The carpets looked like they’d seen some things and weren’t ready to talk about it. Nothing dangerous, just very… tired. Bottom line: you get what you pay for. If you need a place to sleep and you have low expectations (or a good sense of humor), it’ll do. Just don’t expect luxury. Or decent plumbing.

I booked this because it had a hot tub and pool. The hot tub was shut down though when we arrived and prob has been for awhile. A notice on their site would have been nice. The place is old and worn down and dirty and you can hear a lot forn neighbouring rooms. Sketchy area too.

Seedy doesn’t begin to describe Metro Inn

The room had much damage. There were no hangers. When I asked for hangers, the Mgr gave me one hanger and said that was the limit per room. The room was too hot for sleeping. The Mgr said they had turned the heat off in the entire building. He admitted my room was hot, but had no solution. He said use the air conditioner. It was too noisy for sleep and blasted directly at the bed. The window was bolted shut. I had to sleep with the door open—unsafe. Three days later, a different Mgr said someone forgot to turn the building heat off. The paint over the wallpaper in the bathroom is worn through. Holes in curtains, walls and bathroom door. Worn, chipped furniture. No drain plugs in the sink or bath. There was an ironing board, but no iron. No grocery stores anywhere nearby. No snacks or coffee service in the lobby. At least there was decent internet. Best fate for Metro Inn: Tear it down. However, the staff were very nice and tried to be helpful, except for the hot room.
