Could Use a Scrubbing

The toilet and bed were clean and thats all we needed but the rest of the room could use a good scrubbing. Base boards were filthy in bathroom. Fruit was old first thing in the AM. Coffee pots were dirty. We chose not to eat. It is older but would have appeared better if it were cleaned properly. There were very few guests.

One major complaint I have is that your breakfast has gone downhill I used to enjoy very much booking this hotel for the breakfast alone but the last time I stayed here the breakfast was very disappointing

We chose this location for the low rates and we got what we paid for. We took our personal items to the room assigned to us. We used the facilities and discovered there was no water in the sink so we tried to use the tub to wash our hands. We could get no water temperature except for scalding hot. There was also no shower curtain. We took our personal effects and went to the front desk and were given a different room with no difficulties. Upon entering the second room we realized it had not been cleaned. There was a case of empty beer cans and the bed had not been striped and remade. There were used towels in the sink. We once again went to the front desk, the clerk got keys to a 3rd room and walked with us to make sure it was usable. We ended up with a queen bed instead of the king we had reserved.

When we checked in, the woman at the front desk was rude with us and wore a t shirt that had two hands on the front of it that were giving all the middle finger--flipping us off. On the back of her t shirt were the words f--k off, except it was spelled out in full. The young man the next morning was very good. I took my shoes off in our room for the evening. when I took my socks off they were black on the bottom. Carpet was filthy. We have stayed in Americinns before and had a great experience. In fact we have stayed in the W Burlington one before. We may never stay in one again

The first room we were put in smelled of mildew so bad we requested a new room which they provided. The second room didn’t have a shower curtain which the provided after we told them. Thirdly the continental breakfast had a fridge full of expired milk.

Our stay at the AmericInn wasn’t quite what we expected—it had both positives and drawbacks. Check-in was seamless, and we were greeted with a smile. Our room was spacious, with plenty of outlets for charging devices, and it was quiet at night. The king bed was surprisingly comfortable, which can be hard to find in a hotel. I also appreciated the picnic table on the property, which many guests seemed to enjoy. On the downside, the floor in our room was not clean. My son’s white socks turned black after walking on it, and we ended up wearing shoes inside for the rest of our stay. The bathroom was small, but I liked that the soap dispensers were anchored to the wall and easy to use. We did have to be cautious with the shower—the water heated up very quickly, and we barely had the knob off the cold setting. Breakfast started strong, with a hot and delicious meal the first morning. However, by the fourth day, the quality had noticeably declined—the eggs were rubbery, and the sausage links were cold. The pool was enjoyable, although I felt it could use better lighting, as it stays open until 10 p.m. Throughout our stay, the staff stood out the most. Everyone we interacted with was professional, polite, and welcoming. At checkout, I mentioned to the front desk clerk that the air conditioner displayed a “CF” (change filter) message, and she was appreciative of the feedback.

Upon entry , it looked like a nice place to lodge. The desk clerk was absolutely efficient and very friendly. The morning Clerk and breakfast attendant was absolutley efficient and friendly! Now, onto the bad part of the story. Upon entry into the room the reality unfolded: door was patched with bondo, curtains were falling off, bathroom was very dirty, the bathtub was dirty, bedcovering had visible stains and dirty spots on white covering. It was a very unrestful night as people in the room across the hall were running in and out of the room slamming the door and talking very loudly from midnight until 4 am. These people went to the front many times and it is hard to believe the staff did not notice or do anything about. We will not be staying there again.

Filthy and disgusting

This was the most disgusting place I have ever stayed. There was something all over the bed, the tub was full of hair, the shampoo bottle was filthy, The floor was damp, the lamps were rusty, and the lampshades broken, the security lock was broken off the door, there were holes in the wall, broken tiles on the floor, and the bathtub in the bedroom needed to be taken out, the bathtub was duct taped together. Wyndham needs to rethink marketing this as one of their hotels. I was way overcharged paying $150 a night for this disgusting place.

First impression: rusty 1960's Rambler coated in duct tape. Walk through front doors: odor of high school locker room after a long week. Lobby carpet 2 decades past reasonable use and very dirty. Second floor hallway: door trims scratched, worn throughout. Room 221: carpet dirty. Bed inspection ( see photo): beneath mattress dirt, dust, hairs ( is that a pube?), food debris. Bath room: brown smear on wall behind toilet ( see photo) and on baseboard ( chocolate?). Moved to room 227: carpet dirty, only dirt and dust beneath mattress. Bed quality: back seat of that Rambler. My advice to travellers: DO NOT STAY HERE My advice to owners: raze and take your business elsewhere! Property owned by Ganesh Hotels; Ganesh the Hindu elephant deity of wisdom, intellect, the "remover of obstacles". This property is an irredeemable obstacle to health and safety and should be removed!!

Don't go to the Amercinn in Burlington IA

When we got to the hotel the parking lot was empty which was a red flag from the get go. We checked in and the person was very friendly but as we were walking to our room the hall was dirty, smelly and in terrible disrepair. Also it looked like every room's door had been kicked because they all had significant damage. When we got to our room (206), the jacuzzi was falling apart, the drywall was cracked all around the window and A/C unit and also had a musty smell similar to the hallway. I went back to the desk and told them we weren't going to stay there. The person happily took my card of file and we went the the hampton attached to the catfish casino. Very friendly staff, very modern, very clean. Don't go to the Americinn hotel in Burlington IA unless its your last stop on the way to hell and you hoping to score some meth and a hooker.
