Very nice little classic old-school hotel, perfect place for me to spend the night on my road trip. I spent some time in the hot tub and it was awesome, the one complained I had was the Wi-Fi in my room was pretty weak and didn’t really work, but overall it was a great stay.

I've stayed many time here, and always find it nice and clean. I can honestly recommend it to anyone. Only negative comment is, it took a long time to get hot water to the shower.

We love Browns Canyon
We love coming to Browns Canyon. Smaller which means less people and creates a safe and quieter experience all together. The owners are kind and helpful. We have stayed at most of the hotels in Salida.

Cute and artsy!
We had a pleasant weekend stay at the Inn. There is art and sculptures and whimsical things everywhere inside and around the grounds -- kind of fun and felt more like a rustic lodge than a commercial hotel. The place is well cared for and clean. Beds were very comfortable, although some of the pillows were hard and crunchy. Enjoyed the outdoor hot tub. Appreciated real dishes available for breakfast (and Nutella and fancy coffee creamer). We stayed on the 2nd floor and I didn't notice an elevator, so be aware if you have trouble with stairs. Some hallway noise (other guests with noisy children), but overall we had a great experience and wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

This is a nice property. However, the single biggest problem is volume in the common area. It is unbelievably loud. My room was right next to the common/breakfast area. There were about 20 people using it as a giant living room until late at night. This was followed by an extremely loud breakfast crowd at 6am. The room was so crowded that it was nearly impossible to walk through, which is necessary to exit the building. I would not recommend this property if you enjoy sleeping past 6am on your vacation.
