This motel is in a great position close to the river/Portside and a lot of dining options. We've stayed here previously and the staff are very friendly and the rooms huge, with a very comfy bed and clean linen. I know it's an old motel and they try to update it regularly but it's severely lacking new tapware, as the current tapware is corroding or rusting. This would be an easy fix to give the rooms an upgraded feeling.

The room was clean, the issue was that the drains from the shower / bathroom area produced a funky smell. Not putrid but enough that I always kept the bathroom door closed, the and ran the show for 30 seconds when I got back to the room.

This hotel is ridiculous. They allow to be discovered in the PAY AT HOTEL category in the search bar but then as soon as booked started harassing me for full payment. Via email and even missed calls!!! Before the FREE CANCELLATION period even passed. When I called to check other details about this the only response was one that was both rude and dismissive. Citing that their own subset of rules superceded the info displayed on the hotels app. Completely missing my point. I even explained that this added a layer of stress and pressure that was utterly unnecessary while travelling.

Reception is non existent. Showed up to check in at 1230 and no one at reception and a note saying check in after 2pm. Returned at 430pm and again no reception and locked out of the hotel now… telephone outside the door does not work. 2 other check ins showed up also. Together we got ahold of someone who directed us to envelopes in a safe outside which contained our keys for entry. It was a very bizarre check in process. The unit itself was clean and cozy
