Highland Lake Resort
"What a beautiful place. We stayed for a 1 night getaway but wish we had stayed longer. The scenery was so beautiful. The front desk lady was so sweet. You walk down towards the Lake and the view is breathtaking. We were able to sit in a swing and just enjoy sitting and even cooking by the lake. They had plenty of grills around the facility. They have fire pits in different locations. They have areas were you could sit as a couple with your own fire pit. The landscaping was well kept. They have plenty of things for kids to do from an activity center outside to a game room. We will come again with grandson next time. The beach area so clean. Docks for boats or just sitting. The only complaint i have is we didn't get the room described. We ordered 2 queen beds with lake view. We actually didn't stay in room until later in day because it was so much better being outside among the grounds so a little late to complain. We only got partial lake view and 2 double beds. We should have been more observant when we first entered and noticed the beds. We thought this isn't quite a lake view but we didn't complain. We did notice that evening that there seemed to be lake view rooms on the other side of us that were empty. So we should have been able to be in a different room. I guess we just enjoyed the resort itself and it was only 1 night so we just let it go. I don't know if it was resort or Expedia communication that made the error. Definitely Recommend!"
