The room was very nicely appointed. Carpet worn and outside appeared tired. Definitely did NOT like the contactless check in; after a long day on the road, did not want to have to try to figure out the logistics of the key in the lock box. It was unnerving having NO ONE in the office. We lost electricity for two hours during the night; very concerning as my husband has medical equipment we need electricity for and we had medication that needed to be refrigerated. I called the 24 hour number listed in the “ welcome” letter at 12: 30 am after we had no electric for an hour and guess what- no one answered and the voice mail box had not been set up. Fortunately the electricity came back on an hour later. We definitely did NOT like the fact that no one was around to address our needs.

Sorry that you did NOT see the note that was located on the door about the county-wide electrical outage that was planned for two hours. Sorry for any inconvenience. They plan to do those during the night so as to not cause any problems. Not sure what the issue was with not being able to leave us a message. Most of our guests love the "contactless check-in" and if you were having trouble we can be there within one minute as we live right there on the property. We do NOT keep our office opened 24 hours a day as small towns don't have the need to do that. Sorry that we didn't do so good for you, hope your day got better!

Themed rooms in an old-school hotel. Great location (walked to dinner). Quaint and a great option for hikers!

Would have been nice in the sixties. Toilet was built for a child. Shower was past usefulness 20 years ago. Soap was size of a quarter and would not clean anything. Tv channels were poor with no local channels. Bad experience

Not really sure where you stayed but this does not fit our description of our Inn. We don't have soap the size of a quarter, we have family shower dispensers, we have channels for our state of Utah, and of course with Escalante only being a population of 800 we do not have our local television station, that's why you have apps on your phone to check the Escalante weather.....welcome to the 2000's!!!! Hope your day gets better and next time make sure you stay at the local Escalante Hilton and let them meet your expectations.......hahahaha we don't have one!!!!!! Happy trails to you and yours!!!!

It is an older property, but it is extremely well maintained, very clean, the staff desk clerk was great. Considering the price of other motels in the area it is a bargan.

Sorry that our self-check in was disappointing to you. So many of our guests love it that we have continue doing that! Did you put your sign out to say that you wanted maid service? AND my cell phone number is listed many places in your room and on the front door if you need anything! I can be contacted 24 hours a day if I am not at the motel.
