If you wish to cross the Rhine outside of the ferry's operating hours, the Rhine crossings to the north (Erstein) and to the south (Marckolsheim) are available; please allow for longer travel times.
You can also visit Strasbourg or Freiburg, which are only about 30 minutes from your vacation rental.
