Am Belchen: Modern Apartment on a Historic Black Forest Farm

We offer you a fully modernized holiday apartment in a traditional Black Forest farmhouse first mentioned in 1650. Enjoy the peace and quiet of the Black Forest—whether you bring your dog or not, dogs are warmly welcome! Dogs are allowed for an extra fee per night. You can also bring your horse on holiday. We offer stabling for horses in a box, on the pasture, or on our paved area.



The apartment features a bathroom with toilet and shower, a living room with a traditional stove—perfect for warming up after a winter hike or ski tour—a spacious bedroom, and a large kitchen with a Swedish stove that can be additionally heated. During renovation, we preserved the apartment’s original charm while adding modern elements, so the authentic character remains.



The entrance is right next to the young cattle barn. In the morning, you can greet young cows and calves. Our farm is home to Hinterwälder cows and original Brown Swiss cattle of the old breeding line, both endangered breeds. Only about 3,500 of the old Brown Swiss remain in Germany—ten live here.
