Fantastic property, with everything you could need in the house. Very tastefully decorated and beautiful inside. Very comfortable bed with luxury bedding. Great shower, which is a big plus. Perfect Holiday Home

We recently returned from a wonderful stay at this very charming, beautiful property. It is situated in the most picture perfect village with wonderful restaurants and shops just a short walk away. The hosts and locals are extremely friendly and welcoming. The property is cosy and warm if you’re planning to visiting in Winter - It really does make for a perfect stay. We hope to visit again soon!

Great gite in Bergheim

We really enjoyed our stay with Simon! The gite was a good size for a group of four that enjoys a cozy space. We especially enjoyed the connected kitchen and living room, since we could fire up the stove, cook, and enjoy all the local wine together! One thing to be aware of is the connected bedrooms. This was fine for us, but may not be 100% clear in the posting (I think the French description makes sense, but the English translation wasn't as clear). The location is wonderful. Bergheim is really well located and cute, with a wonderful Christmas market, and it is far less overrun by tourists compared to nearby Ribeauville or similar. There are many great wineries to try nearby - special mention to Marcel Deiss in town, or Rolly Gassmann just to the north of town.

Lovely part of France

Very nice property with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Very clean and comfortable. We self catered mainly and the gas bbq was a real bonus. Just be aware that although there are two bedrooms there is a gap with a curtain between the rooms. There are some nice restaurants in the town along with some lovely bakeries. Bergheim is a great place to stay for a trip to this area as it’s not too touristy but really pretty and lots of history. Everything is within an easy drive too. Simon the owner was always helpful.

In a Village of beautiful Flowers

A gite full of character which was exceptionally clean with great kitchen and bathroom facilities. We were welcomed by our host who gave us a guided tour and explained the history of the gite which he had renovated to a high standard. We didn’t want to leave.

Beautiful Gite and village

We loved our stay here. The Gite was very clean and comfortable. Walking straight onto the ramparts was a real bonus. 3 minutes to the playground. 2 minutea to the bakery! Perfect for a family. Thank you.

Beautiful La Maison d'Achille in the Haut-Rhin Village of Bergheim

My stay was from 1 Dec 2018 to 8 Dec 2018. Simon met me upon my arrival and proceeded to give me an orientation of the property. The apartment is 3 floors next door to Simon's home located on a cul-de-sac. There is a manually operated driveway gate that Simon leaves open during the day. You park your car inside the gate, allowing enough room for Simon to park his car in the garage. On the ground floor, accessed from the driveway, there's a sauna and exercise room containing a treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical, and rowing machine. The 1st floor is accessed via exterior steps leading to a covered porch entry. The 1st floor has a full kitchen, living room, eat-in kitchen table, all equipped to a high standard. There's the option for a wood burning fire in the living room. The 2nd floor is accessed via stairs; there are two bedrooms and a half-bath, so you'll need to use the 1st floor bathroom for your shower. Bergheim is a nice village of cobbled lanes and half-timbered buildings. Simon had his home and the apartment decorated for Christmas. The village was having a Nativity creche decorating theme for Christmas and there were several families that participated in the village. Simon and his father, Jean-Louis, had built a homemade creche in the driveway with lighting. Very nice. I did day trips every day. The Haut-Rhin Alsace Wine Route with Colmar, Ribeauville, Riquewihr, Kaysersburg, Equisheim, and Guebwiller all being beautiful villages along the route, all having Christmas markets. I did day trips to Freiburg, Germany and Basel, Switzerland too. Just a great time during the week. I walked to Ribeauville and back to Bergheim using lanes and paths through the vineyards. There's a Proxi convenience/grocery store in Bergheim for basics that's within easy walking distance. There are larger grocery stores near Ribeauville that require a car. Thanks Simon for a great stay at La Maison d'Achille. Your English is way better than my French or German.

perfect, charming house along the Alsace wine road

We absolutely recommend this lovely house in Bergheim! Every decorative detail is so charming and attractive, but guest comfort has not been sacrificed along the way. It was very clear that many thoughtful decisions went into its design in order to create the perfect holiday experience. The bed was really comfortable, and we appreciated the second upstairs bathroom, the space of the additional bedroom, and the fully-equipped kitchen (not that we ever cook in France, but you could.) The wood-burning stove is a delight if you are there in the winter, and the welcoming host, Simon, had even decorated for Christmas, so you can enjoy the cozy atmosphere enhanced by the lights on the Christmas tree. Alsace, of course, is a very special delight during the Christmas season, and we loved the twinkly lights of Bergheim, perfectly situated for many Christmas markets and other sight-seeing destinations. The gite is every bit as pretty as its photographs, and it is blissfully warm as well. (I'm including that point because, when shopping for a winter rental, I tend to look for a specific mention of whether or not it was warm enough.) We are happy to be home, but I would return here again in a heartbeat for another dose of fairy-tale magic.

Perfekt und gemütlich

Das Häuschen ist perfekt ausgestattet, blitzsauber, absolut gemütlich und lässt keine Wünsche offen. Simon ist ein hervorragender Gastgeber, der sich liebevoll kümmert und immer sofort antwortet. (Zum Glück ist sein Deutsch viel besser als unser Französisch!) Wir durften im Garten frische Feigen ernten und zur Abreise hätte er uns sogar mit dem Auto zum Zug gebracht. Bergheim ist ideal, um von dort aus mit den Rädern das Elsass und die Vogesen zu erkunden, es gibt sehr schöne Restaurants und einen hervorragenden Bäcker. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Sehr schöner Aufenthalt im Herzen von Elsass

Wir hatten eine wirklich sehr schöne Woche in der Ferienwohnung im Herzen vom Elsass. Die Wohnung ist sehr liebevoll gestaltet, super sauber und sehr gut ausgestattet. Mit der Sauna im Untergeschoss ein perfekter Rückzugsort nach langen Ausflugstagen. Die Kommunikation mit dem Gastgeber war einwandfrei. Die Location eignet sich hervorragend um das gesamte Elsass zu erkunden. Burgen, Wandermöglichkeiten, Weinberge, Colmar aber auch Straßburg sind nur einen Katzensprung entfernt. Wir hatten insgesamt trotz einigen Rehentagen eine gute Zeut. Vielen Dank!

Superfijn verblijf

Wij hebben een superfijne week gehad in Bergheim. Het apartement was top en was zeer compleet uitgerust. Misschien één puntje: er zijn 2 slaapkamers met allebei een eigen toegangsdeur, maar tussen die kamers zit een gordijn ipv een muur. Deze constructie begrepen wij niet helemaal. De eigenaar Simon, vonden wij een zeer sympathieke man. een muur

Idéalement placé au calme, maison typique ancienne

Pied à terre idéalement placé sur la route des vins. Passé une semaine en faisant peu de voiture. Cité à découvrir à 3 minutes de la ville de Ribeauvillé bien achalandée. Proximité randonnées, forêts, vignoble et parcs touristiques adaptés aux familles avec enfants
