What a Gem and Vision of a new Property! This Place is Great. And so fortunate to be some of the New Guests. Location is Great! Rooms are small but well done. I would suggest to not leave an empty roll of toilet paper for new guests. I would suggest to have information on dining and information menus in the rooms. This made for a hassle to have to call or go in person to know hours and items. We did do the Golf simulator multiple times and this was a Huge Hit! Great Job to incorporate that. Not having any Draft beer is disappointing but can be an easy Fix for Future. For breakfast the mini market 5star directly next store (1 minute walk) was the Best Option as they have Excellent Fresh Breakfast sandwiches! Found it too cold, expensive and too Formal for Breakfast in Lobby esp when kids involved. Staff was very Nice and Professional! Hope one Day there can be a gym option. I wud def recommend and look forward to stay again as we come every summer to Bardstown! Great Job!

Very beautifully renovated hotel. We are locals, but felt like we were out of town on vacation. The staff were super nice and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We will definitely be back when we need a staycation.

This is a fantastic property. The golf simulator room was amazing and very reasonably priced. Food at the restaurant was excellent. The gift shop is very nice as well. The speak easy is a must for the bourbon lover to find rare and old bourbons.

This property is new and beautiful! A vibe of retro motor lodge meets luxe boutique. Hi o & chic at the same time. I sent as initially thrown off by the doors on the outside, but the Trail Hotel pulled it off! The lobby is beautiful with many spaces to sit in small groups & relax on gorgeous leather chairs & relax. The bar is gorgeous and cocktails are great! Steakhouse is delicious. There is a golf simulator that looks like a posh lounge that can be booked and a great speakeasy in the basement. The outdoor pool is in the center with a nice pool bar so you don’t have to go far to grab a drink & bask in the sun. The semi-submerged pool loungers are a nice touch. The gift shop offers some great items including their collection of bourbon & rye. Michael the bar manager (I believe?) was lovely & went over & above to create one of the best old fashioneds I’ve ever had. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a fridge & coffeemaker & the toiletries provided feel upgraded with travel m-size luxe body lotion, etc. Bed & pillows were comfy. There are wonderful fire pits with Adirondack chairs outside and our group loved gathering around the fire each night with a cocktail & stories from the day to share. We stayed 2 nights and really enjoyed our time. The hotel is new and they were somewhat under-staffed as evidenced upon check-in - we waited behind another couple who said they had been waiting a while with no one manning the front desk. This was rectified.

Nice rooms but just average as a whole

The hotel is still getting up to speed with their amenities given that they are still new. Rooms are nice and comfortable (A/c runs super loud all day and night long so be prepared for that). Restaurant service was not good - food took forever and came out at all different times. While they put a lot of $$ into the design, the hotel is really a motel that sits in the side of a highway. Their “patio view” which is an upgrade is a cement slab with a view of the highway and too hot to sit on in the warm weather as it faces sunset.

The Trail has a lot of potential, and should grow into a wonderful space. We had one hiccup at checkin, and were told the incorrect room number, but that was fixed quickly. The lobby/lounge/bar/restaurant area is lovely, well appointed, but unfortunately they’re trying some sort of “signature smell” air freshener that made it unpleasant to stay in the lounge area. The rooms were nice, with fully renovated and spacious bathrooms. Really nice linens, but no place to hang them when not in use. No toilet lid on toilet, no exhaust fan in bathroom. The HVAC in the rooms is really, really loud. The pool area was VERY nice, lots of upgrades and a giant hottub. The outdoor patio areas were also nice. Every single thing other than your room and the pool is an extra charge. No free coffee in the morning. Want to check out the speakeasy? $15. The golf simulator, extra charge. I think over time as this “resort” evolves their approach will as well. Great potential.

The stay and property was amazing. A couple points to consider although not very big deals but something to look into...we did not have a do not disturb sign for the door and some areas in the room where not visible were very dusty. Again nothing major just something to consider. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay

Staff friendliness only gets you so far.

The staff was nice and tried their best. But this hotel featured New York size rooms and New York prices. It was a motel in the middle of Kentucky (indeed, the doors open to the outside walkway). Our double room was miniscule, featured no "modern amenities" such as usb outlets, laundry bags, etc., and wasn't turned over during the entirety of our three night stay. And our keys were reset each day, causing us to have to go to reception for a fix (in the middle of a thunderstorm, with all of our stuff sitting on the sidewalk...). This is an $95/night room at best. And $25 for what was effectively a continental breakfast... The common areas (pool, restaurant, lobby) were very nice. The golf simulator was a nice amenity as well. But if you are planning to use the room for anything more than a crash pad, maybe think again before spending over $200 a night...
