A pleasant surprise

Pros: Attentive, friendly staff, good breakfasts, efficient air conditioning, clean and neat, comfortable bed, very good location close to everything.
Cons: Barcelona -- even just the old part -- is architecturally handsome but extremely complex and easy to get lost in. A good, detailed map would help.
Location: The Sagrada Familia (astonishing modern cathedral) is a five-Euro cab ride and the most incredible sight, not just in Barcelona or Spain, but Europe.
Hotel wasn't easy to find -- although near the old Cathedral, the cab driver had never heard of the street, which turned out to be because it's an extremely obscure, small "inside" street. Once we got that behind us, staff were very friendly and accommodating and our "petite" double room was ready. (We had asked for a quiet room, and it was that -- looking out into a back street). And the location was very good -- some extremely good shops literally next door. We found the hotel people very nice and helpful. The eight-Euro breakfast was well done with freshly squeezed juices, good egg and bacon dishes as well as excellent fresh youghurt, fresh fruit, etc.

Great little hotel in Barcelona's Gothic Quarter

Pros: See above
Location: Just off La Rambla; walking distance to several sights, including the waterfront, the Basilica, La Padrera.
Location is perfect! Close to a Metro station, easy walking to many attractions, right off La Rambla. Front desk staff were all very helpful, especially Christiano. Rooms are small, but comfortable and the bathrooms are nice. The breakfast buffet is quite good and during the day there are snacks and coffee available. They welcome guests with a glass of Cava! All in all, a very nice stay.

Loved it! :)

Friendly and courteous staff. Very helpful. Accommodations were very comfortable and well laid out. Great location in the heart of el barri gotic. Easy access to Cathedral of Barcelona, La Rambla, la boqueria and the beach. Loved Barcelona and would happily stay here again.

This hotel was quite accommodating with our late night arrival.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
Cons: Noisy
This hotel is wonderfully located within blocks of Las Ramblas & the Number 3 metro, the Cathedral, Plaza Cataluna and the Boqueria. Exploring the many streets, restaurants and sites within easy walking distance, made it atmospheric and easy. The taxi driver from the airport had a little trouble finding it and the room location at the front made it impossible to leave windows open because of the all night carousing & garbage/street cleaning services. The breakfast was quite good with a wide variety of choices.

Great staff!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet, desk staff
We arrived early and easily stored our luggage until the room was ready later in the afternoon. Desk clerk took one look at my husband ( 6' 2" and 200 + lbs)and asked if we would be interested in upgrading to a larger room for an additional 20euros a night. We were given keys to the small and upgraded room to go look at and decide - we definately needed to bigger room. It was clean and comfortable with a good sized comfortable bed. Had a good hairdryer and big thick towels. We had no view( but it was quiet) and there was nowhere to put anything in the bathroom but this is kind of minor. Staff was friendly and helpful and offered us cava each evening.

a must stay hotel!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
This is in a perfect location--surrounded by so many shops, right around the corner from one of the gaudi cathedrals and within walking distance to the beach---the gothic quarter is a magical place. The front desk staff were very friendly and the room was upscale. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. ***on a side note, the taxi cab guys at the airport all seemed to be argueing over whether to take us or not---like they didn't want to drive to the gothic quarter---maybe because it's a busy place? anyway, we eventually got a nice guy to take us and I tipped him extra. make sure you bring the name of the hotel and address with you---you'll need it for sure.

Great location.

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: air conditioning
• Great location. • Bed was firm. • European's don't believe in ice cubes nor air conditioning. • Young lady at the front desk was curt and dismissive.

Not Worth the Money

Pros: Free Internet
Stayed here the night before and the night after a cruise. I was suppose to have a "deluxe double", but it turned out to be a corner room, which was half the size of my stateroom on the cruise ship. When I showed the clerk my reservation, he said that was the only room that they had available, so it appeared as though I didn't have much choice. At the very least, the room was clean, but the bed was hard and uncomfortable. Then when I got home, I had a charge on my credit card, and I have no idea what it is for (this was prepaid). I will defintely be staying elsewhere next time.

This hotel is right in the middle of everything!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, quiet at night
I wanted to stay in the Gothic Quarter to be able to explore all of the narrow streets, stores, and attractions that travel books suggested. It was a gem of a hotel, with comfy beds, free wi-fi, and a nice hot shower. The hotel staff was quite accomodating, everyone spoke some English, complimentary fruit awaited us in the mornings as did Cava in the afternoons. They stored our suitcases after we checked out, and when we came back later in the day, our taxi pulled up at the exact time we requested. If I ever go back to Barcelona, I will stay here again.
