Fantastic room for the price granted this was before Memorial Day, so the crowds have not arrived yet. Quality of room furnishing was well above the standard chain hotel decor. The seating area with gas fireplace was an unexpected but welcome feature. Comfortable deck with excellent ocean view.

Great view

Cons: The rooms could be updated.
Location: The location is great. You are not far from Acadia or down town Bar Harbor.
The hotel has an amazing view of the ocean. The room was very comfy and as expected. They staff was very friendly and helpful. They made sure to provide you with maps of the area and help with trails if needed. I would stay here again anytime.

Hotel near Bar Harbor

Pros: I answered this question at the beginning of the survey.
Cons: How about a better location for an elevator?
Location: Bar Harbor shops and the national park.
Earlier in this survey the same questions were asked and I answered them. I find answering the same questions twice irritating.

Not bad...

Decent hotel. Nice pool and sauna. 5 minutes from downtown Bar Harbor. If you're a smoker this is not the hotel for you. Even with a private balcony, you can't smoke. The hotel manager was very stern while talking to me about this at check-in. I felt like a criminal.

Hotel staff was very welcoming and accommodating!

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking Frenchman Bay. The beds were extremely comfortable. There was entertainment in the lounge both nights we were there. The Looking Glass restaurant was superb. They even offered to drive us to the restaurant which was up the hill from the hotel. Views from both the room and restaurant were fantastic. The pools and fitness center were very nice. Can't wait to go back!

Disappointing hotel stay--there are much better choices

I feel the view from their adds is very misleading. The view given on the websites is of the newer building at the front. There is a much larger building towards the rear (where the picture was probably take from) that is much older and, in my opinion, not near a 4 diamond rating from AAA. This area is not pictured in their adds. This is where our room was. Also the restuarant is a good hike from this hotel at a sister property and if you want to go into Bar Harbor, you have to take a bus that picks you up at the sister property and takes you to the village green. It does run very often, but on the way home, it takes at least 30 minutes to get back to the hotel that otherwise would be a 3 minute trip. They do not offer a private shuttle. The room was adequate but the bathroom and sink area are very small and not worthy of a 4 star rating--a 2 or maybe a 3 at most. There is a very nice view from the bluff the hotel sits on, but your "balcony" is the common walkway that connects all the outside rooms on one level. They do give you two plastic chairs to sit on if you choose. For the price of this 4 diamond hotel, I was very disappointed. We left after one night and found a fabulous hotel in town and on the harbor for nearly the same price. Not even a comparison.
