Never Again

Pros: With exception to Concierge Staff.... NOTHING!!!!
Cons: Overall service, hotel condition and cleanliness, reception staff, breakfast and wait staff... Should I go on?
Location: Siam Paragon/Siam Square, BTS
I stayed at this hotel the last few years on visits to Thailand while in Bangkok. Last visit prior to this one was disappointing based on Hotel Reception Staff, very unprofessional and unaccommodating, they acted as if they were doing me a favor when in turn I was paying for the stay of course. Breakfast was okay at best then. This time, I could not get extra towel to my room, no bar soap in bathroom and overall hotel was filthy. Breakfast was so bad, I went to a recently remodeled hotel about 100 meters away and bought breakfast. After I had paid for the room/breakfast option here! The individual making the omelets was very rude, overall breakfast quality was very poor, and bugs were crawling on the table where a lady from Europe was sitting. She did not enjoy the breakfast at all either. Wait staff in restaurant was very poor and rude also! The head of the Concierge Staff, as well as some Concierge Staff members were good as gold with me, as they always have been. That cannot be the reason for my return though. The rest of the experience was VERY BAD!!! I will never stay here again and will now make my reservation for my stay in BKK before leaving elsewhere. Additionally, I couldn't even walk in or out of the hotel after dusk without Ladyboys harassing me. Nothing derogatory meant, to each his/her own, but I do not care for unwelcomed offers on hotel property. Very unsuitable and not appreciated. Place should now be called Grand Dump Bangkok!

Nice Hotel but room was disapointing

Pros: The location and the service was awesome.
Cons: The quality of the towels was very poor with Fraying edges. The Beds had wheels always rolling away. The Blanket Quality very Poor.
Location: AWESOME SHOPPING PLACES AND it is just 10 minutes walk away from Terminal 1 shopping malls and TRAIN STATIONS . SOME LOVELY BEER GARDENS AND PUBS.
Everything was ok during my stay but there are some points need Improvement urgently. Besides that all.... My stay was ok. Thanks

Descent hotel

Pros: Good breakfast.
Cons: Improved and maintain the rooms at tower 3. It feels dated and somethings needs to be fixed.
The location is great. a few minutes to BTS and alot of shops outside of the hotel. If you pay for the cheapest rooms you will stay at tower 3 across the street. This one is a bit old so you will see the lack of maintenance in the rooms. I saw some ants and roaches in the room. Not a good way to stay.

Old , and dirty

Pros: Staff
Cons: All the rooms need renovation.....
Location: Little far from bts train, but lots of restaurants and nightlife options close by.
First impressions are good, friendly and efficient staff, clean lobby area. Then you go up to the rooms. First thing I see off the elevator are dirty smeared walls. Then my rooms walls were just as bad as the halls. Step in and you see stains on the carpet and the couch. Did not use couch the whole trip. The worst was the bathroom. Mildew on the tub and shower, broken fixtures, veneer peeling off the cabinets. That's just some of the worst I don't want to get into the rest. Strangely thou my friend who was staying on a different floor had a pretty decent room. Just had the same terrible bathroom. All in all for the money we spent on our rooms I would never go back. There are better places in Bangkok that do upkeep their facilities. I would suggest they tear down and start over again. And hire more cleaning staff.

Room change

I have stayed at this hotel before, mostly because of price and its location on Soi11 cloe to sumkuvit Rd and nana sky train station. It is close to some good places to eat , drink play pool or just hang around. None of the staff stood out they were efficient. the hotel itself is quite dated. On this visit I stayed at 3 different hotels in different areas of the city.this area was the most fun. I chose a upgrded room and got a large bedroom and sitting room, but the room stank of cigarette smoke. I am asthmatic and a non smoker and they were able to change me to a non smoking room in tower one, which was a much nicer room again pretty dated, but everthing worked well. Now having stayed in all three of their towers, all of which have their own pool areas, i prefer tower 3 across, the road which happens also to be their cheapest. Make sure you know if breakfast is included before you arrive. It is a great spread, even though it cost about $9 extra, on prior visits it was included.

I love the Hotel

I have stayed at the Grand 6 times over the past 18 months and will be there at least 2 more times before the end of 2007. I learned from a friend the first time to go no less then a Regency room. It is well worth it. Tower 1 or 2 is the way to go, always, unless you want to go cheap, you get what you pay for. People at the hotel are great, bell guy even ran out to get things for me. Great location on Sukumvint. Near to BTS, shopping malls, restaurants, Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza. I stay there with my Thai girlfriend when visiting and she loves it too. The German beer house located right there is awesome. Great food and drink, good service and people. Love the pig roast each weekend. The Regency and above rooms also provide a full kitchen and fridge, great if you want to do your own breakfast or evening food. In case your a late riser like we are. It all depends on what your looking for, I would recommend it to friends and have before. Spend $* ? That is what you get.

cheap but below par

I booked the hotel and flight together. They put me in Tower 1 which was a joke. They gave me a lot of run around before they were willing to give me a room in Tower 1 or 2. There was daily room service but the cleanliness was questionable. Staff at the restaurant were friendly and clean. Breakfast was catered to Westerners which was good. Yes, it you decide to stay here, make sure you stay in Tower 1 or 2.
