Good budget hotel at convenient location

Good budget hotel at a convenient location. Walking distance to major shopping centers and train stations. Took the airport rail link from the airport to Phaya Thai station and it was a 10 mins walk to the hotel. The hotel itself was a bit outdated, but reasonable for the price and convenient location.

The hotel met all of our needs. The staff worked well with us to accommodate everything needed for our stay. The location was convenient to the Sky train. There is a lot of street food and restaurants surrounding the hotel

Some Problems Met as a Tourist But Im Still Happy

The building signage says Diamond Bangkok HOTEL, so remember that when talking to your taxi or Grab driver. But accommodation and services are generally designed more for apartment dwellers than for hotel stays. FrontDesk staff generally don't speak English, but you could get by though through gestures and broken English. My experience is that I wasn't able to have Laundry service because of language barriers. If you're a tourist/traveler, you also need to inform Front Desk EVERY DAY if you want housekeeping service (although I'm not sure if they mean you can inform them once for EVERYDAY cleaning, but I just have to make sure so I just inform them each day since I go out 10AMs anyway). Check your room before staying. I didn't feel secure at first because the lock on my balcony doesn't work and the main door's lock seem to detach from the door frame. Fortunately, I was able to talk to the maintenance guy who just tightens the screws tightly. Unfortunately, everytime I come home, I always discover the housekeeping always keep balcony door unlocked. Though I don't have my valuables in the open (there is also security safe in the room), the unlocked balcony door made me feel very anxious. On the positive side, the room is really spacious. I had room with twin beds. You also pass through a backdoor with your own entrycard when you enter the building, which is a plus for me in terms of Privacy. Local food vendors abound in the area, but there are no English signs. 7-11 is Love.

It was in a good location, being a Muslim it was easy to find halal food and the staff were quite nice. Mattresses can be replaced but overall it was comfortable and ideal for those who just want a place to sleep. We were out most of the day. I’d go back again :)

I don't think they ever clean the room. The bed sheet smelled like sweets. The shower floor looked dirty and the closet was dirty too: and the worse thing is that the cleaning person forgot to clean our room during of two days stay there.

I know this was a very economical hotel, but I be stayed in less priced ones with 10x the quality. The beds feel like they are 20yrs old. My back killed me every morning. When you turn on the shower you can smell sewage which was disgusting. I had to buy air freshners. The AC only had one setting really cold. Which is a plus you think but it hovered over the bed so I was either too cold or when I turned it off it was way too hot. They need better TV in the rooms! I am sure they are the same age as the beds. The only plus I can think of it was close to everything.

great budget option in New Town BKK

This apartment-style hotel is a great budget option in the New Town BKK. You can easily walk to BTS, Siam, MBK mall, the Airport Link and to Saen Saep Water boat (public transport) which takes you to the Old Town (Khao San Rd. etc.). The morning guy let us check in at around 7am, thank you for that! Cleanliness is fine, housekeeping is done when you tell them at the reception before 2pm. Everything (towels, soap, toilet paper etc.) is provided. Fridge, cable-channel TV, sofa and a balcony (which is very noisy though) makes this room quite comfy! Other staff were not extraordinarily friendly but we didn´t care... 7-Eleven is just right next to hotel´s entrance. Would recommend it for a city trip to BKK!!
