About this property

Tiny "Topiary" cabin in the forest

This cabin offers a 'glamping' experience vibe: The 'Topiary' cabin is a shared shower house rather than an in cabin bathroom. The shower house located near the entrance (about a 2-minute walk away). The facility includes two private, separate stalls, each with its own shower and toilet. It's a creative tiny home studio layout with a porch view of the forest, wildlife and hills on 30 acres. Explore trails along the creek and rock formations while being 10 minutes from the lively culture of Athens, and Ohio University. There is radiator heat and wall A/C. Please note that while there is a bed, you’ll need to bring your own sleeping bags/bedding and pillows.

Our location is a 10 minute drive from OU and uptown Athens, but it feels like you are far out in the wilderness. Quite unusually for Appalachian Ohio, there are all kinds of shopping, restaurants, and other amenities in town and around it. Biking, hiking, parks and cultural happenings are nearby. Live music happens in a variety of venues on an almost nightly basis. Athens has three micro breweries and the brewery Little Fish is almost at the end of our road. The Plains, which is also quite close, has some of the above as well.

'Waldbaden', our name for the land where we have built cabins, is the German word(s) for 'forest bathing'. The concept behind 'forest bathing' is that the trees are therapeutic for mental and physical health. We are not experts in the practice of 'waldbaden' but we definitely find our bit of forest rejuvenating and we hope you do too.

Please feel free to walk the trails and see the nature, but also be aware that it is mostly untamed nature and that your exploration is at your own risk.

This cabin is cozy and comfortable with great nature views.

**Please remember to bring the following, as they are not provided for this unit:

**Sleeping bags/bedding and pillows

**Towels for the shower house

If you would prefer a private bathroom, we also have three other cabins on the property that feature full in-cabin bathrooms. You are welcome to check them out here:

Super-clean and comfortable tiny cabin, eclectic, creative design. We had not been given the bathroom code before arriving but owner responded quickly (as he did every time I messaged him). The toilet paper ran out as well. Overall it was a lovely setting for a couple of nights to visit with our OU daughter. Seemed slightly over-priced for the accommodations but would stay there again.
