The room needed a chair! There was no place to sit. Beds were comfortable, overall fine. An overhead light would be nice. We were visiting Ohio University on a game weekend. The cost to stay at the Lodge was way below any hotel in Athens. The Lodge is not easy to find, I would stay again. Oh the breakfast is thin, waffles and cereal. There is a small bar, which was very nice. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. All in all it is a very nice hotel. We saved over $100 by staying at the Lodge. Again the room needs a chair!

Really liked the concept of this being a college associated hotel. Views were very nice from the room and the room furniture was beautiful. Great place to stay less than 30 min from Hocking Hills State Park. Cleanliness: the hotel itself was fine. The room was not. It “appeared” clean at quick glance. But the brown plank flooring was visibly filthy and clearly hadn’t seen a mop in who knows when. There was a pile of hair in the corner of the bathroom when we arrived. The shower curtain had black mold all over the bottom. Coffee maker didn’t work. There’s no hair dryer in the room. Breakfast consisted of the typical continental fair: dry cereal and low-fat milk, muffins, two types of granola bars, waffle maker. Bar wasn’t open so can’t speak to that. Overall loved the place but the rooms need some care. Installing brown flooring isn’t an excuse to never clean them.

It is a nice hotel and the staff are friendly there. The only problem I had was that there wasn’t an elevator in the building. Grant it there are only two floors. But when you have bad knees and a handicap mom it’s hard getting up and down the steps. Otherwise it’s a nice place. There is a bike/ walking path off to the side.
