Pre-Christmas ski vacation with 10yo and 14yo

Pros: room size
Cons: Beds were a little soft for my taste. We were given two Full beds. Would have been nice to have two queens.
Location: convenient to mainstreet, aspen mountain gondola, transportation center, shopping, and fine dining
Lovely, well-maintained, unpretentious hotel in the heart of Aspen. Convenient to everything. Staff was very friendly/professional. Hotel shuttle service (free) to Snowmass was excellent. Nice included breakfast. Would stay again!

Very good place, overall

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
Friendly staff, nice room, good pizza, good breakfast. However, on the third night of our three night stay, a large group of children arrived for a hockey tournament. Their noise and unsupervised activity (the adults were busy at the bar) made the third night and breakfast the following day somewhat unpleasant. The Limelight is not set up to handle a large and rambunctious crowd for the Continental breakfast. Other than that, our stay was quite good. The hotel is located a short walk from most interesting places in Aspen, plus it has free bikes for guests and is relatively close to a bike trail.

Absolutely Lovely

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, amazing staff
I went here with a large group of international students and three other counselors. I was nervous that the students would have difficulty getting around and being able to enjoy the area. The staff here was AMAZING and so patient!!! They helped the students read maps, gave tips on best places to eat, and even just let the students practice their English with them. As a teacher, this place gets an A+. As a traveler, this place took my breath away. The gorgeous scenery around the hotel and the hotel itself were great. The staff in each other areas, restaurant (the food, SO GOOD), bar, housekeeping, and customer service were some of the most cheerful and welcoming I have ever met (and I've traveled A LOT internationally and nationally). Thank you so much for such a great trip.

Gotta love the Limelight. It's good as it gets in Aspen!!!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet, great outdoor spaces!!!
The Limelight is simply the most comfortable, progressive, accommodating hotel in Aspen. The staff is wonderful -- to a person. The public spaces are wonderfully open and communal. And the pizza!!!! Ohhhhhhh, the pizza. Try the Drunken Fig pizza. It'll rock your world!!!! Our most recent stay had us in a room with nearly as much outdoor living space as indoor. Be sure to request a room with outdoor deck area. The views are spectacular. Especially in summer! We LOVE the Limelight!!!!!

Great location and decent prices during off-season.

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet
Our hotel room was very comfortable and the bed was amazing. The hotel was in a great location and we were in walking distance from everything. The breakfast was above-average - something I haven't been experiencing in hotels as of late. My only complaint is that we had to wait for our room in the lobby for about 2 hours and the front desk was bordering on snobbish.

Suoer Experience at Limelight!

First let me explain...I think much of my euphoria for this hotel was that I spent the entire time thinking I was staying there for half of what I really was! Chalk that up to not paying proper attention to my online booking experience! However even though I was paying a few hundred dollars a night...this hotel made me really happy! Is it the St. Regis, Ritz or Hyatt? No. Is it Sky, Aspen Alps, Jerome? No. Its the new-ish Limelight (Aspen Ski Corp recently bought/redid it) which is low key, informal, true to its folkish 50/60's roots with a young staff who seem to enjoy life. Lots of Aussies (of course) a few youngsters in from Ca. Whoever is hiring/setting tone is doing a great job. One young man I met was from NY, Columbia grad, had worked at the UN, etc. super educated/smart enough to know that time is not a limitless entity and we all have to make the most of it while we can! Rooms warm, spacious, outfitted with a Kuerig, fridge, sink, etc. Ours had view of Ajax and the jacuzzis (2) and pool.Small fitness center. Lobby is spacious, informal, casual. Nice large gas fireplace. Entertainment most nights. Some shared tables, easy to meet folks from all over the world. Great cont breakfast included. Can you say smoked salmon? Glazed donuts worthy of Krispy Kreme to sliced meat/cheese - Euros and Americans alike can co-exist. Just opened a pizza oven/salads -that's it for dinner for now. Cheap and filling! Friendly ski concierge/overnight gear . Hotel shuttle. Close to free city ski shuttles! ABC at frt desk is a wealth of info. Old album covers from the original Limelight folk group with titles like 'love on the picket line'. Does it get any better than that?
