This is a step up from camping outdoors. I wanted to put a show on for my kids but literally only one channel worked. I found multiple bugs in the room. The beds are very shaky. Location is great! Literally feet from the entrance of Mount Rainier. Parking was easy and we were fortunate to have quiet neighbors. The furniture and decor is super random in these rooms.

Cabin was clean and roomy. The street light and noise were a bit too loud. Bees were comfortable, shower hot. As close to the park as you can get.

Floor uneven. Decor very dated. Toilet had urine and toilet paper in it. Shower, mirror, sink, floor all appeared unclean. We waited for cleaning person to complete the cleaning but obviously she did not. We did not stay ended leaving and driving to Olympia that night.

Great location and had amenities needed for a visit to a National Park. If you're use to luxury hotels you likely won't agree with this review, but it's everything one needs after spending time in nature.

It is dated for sure. The bed was okay and the pillows were poor. Found some Frito crumbs in the rug. Conveniently right at the entrance to Rainier National Park. Good communication.

Great location

Place was only surface clean and beds were okay. We had a mouse problem on one night that kept us awake. We liked the layout of the cabin and it made it easy to get into the National Park

Accomodation ok for mountains, close to Mt. Rainier. The cleanliness was however quite poor, we found 1 dirty towel, left underwear and mess under the beds. The fridge was in very poor condition and leaking. Beds were fine.

The location is great, close to paradise, and only about a 30-minute drive away. The cabins look nice from the outside, but if you’re looking for a truly clean place to stay, this may not be the right choice. There were tons of dog hairs on the bed — I love dogs, but if the linens were properly cleaned, it shouldn’t have been that bad. The carpet and floors also felt very dirty. As for WiFi, I understand the limitations in remote areas, but here it was literally nonexistent. They gave us a password, but the network never connected at all. Overall, the setting is great, but the cleanliness and basic amenities need serious improvement

We were assigned a Junior Suite that had no air conditioning. Instead, there was only a single fan shared between two rooms. When we brought this up to the front desk, the staff member repeatedly responded that “the owner didn’t install AC.” When we asked for an additional fan, we were told none were available. During our stay, the weather was extremely humid, which made the situation very uncomfortable. We also requested to speak with the owner, but were told the owner could not be reached. At one point, the staff member even said, “it is what it is,” which came across as dismissive and unhelpful. Overall, the lack of hospitality and unwillingness to address concerns left us disappointed. Pros: The property’s location—it’s right at the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park, next to the park sign.

I think the biggest thing is your expectations for the Gateway Inn. It's not a 5 star place, but it's cute, cozy, amd rustic. The location is excellent, literally outside the park entrance. The cabin inside was decently clean. Bedding is worn, but we had plenty of space. The person working the front was very friendly. I thought the bed was comfortable, but my 6'5" husband did not. Overall not a bad place.

Great small cabin just outside Mt Ranier NP

This little cabin was perfect for a place to relax after exploring Mt Ranier NP. The cabin is located about 100 yards from the park entrance. It was clean and comfortable. The only issue was we could not get the TV to work properly. It seems the WiFi was limited and the TV kept “buffering”…but we were not there for the TV…we were there for the park.

Disliked: Amenities
I am used to nicer hotels and while I knew this was a cabin, I didn’t realize all the challenges. The area has been having a drought and water may not be available in the motel at times due to it. Was not aware it could be an issue before hand. We arrived while they were experiencing a power outage, but on top of that there was no water bc they use well water (no electricity no pump). Cabins do not have generator backup. I just wasn’t prepared for all the challenges. We were about to leave, wasn’t comfortable being caught after dark in an unknown location without electricity and a working toilet, but luckily power came back on. Location was great because it was right by the entrance to the national park. Staff was super friendly!
