Another commercial center where a miracle took place in the year 858, the site continued this tradition to the point of later attracting the attention of the Dukes of Burgundy.<br>Their hunting lodge was transformed in the 12th century into a castle with 14 towers, serving as the administrative headquarters for the entire region (including Nuits-Saint-Georges). François I issued an important decree there in 1547. It was destroyed in March 1590 and never recovered from its ruins. The local craftsmen, who produced enameled cobblestones for Cîteaux, Gilly, Commarin, and Châteauneuf, continued to operate, making it possible to build the beautiful residences and castles that can still be seen today.
