Went to booked hotel. Said they were overbooked and sent us to their sister property about 5 miles away (not a big deal). Service at first hotel was horrible.
Drove to sister property, service was equally as bad but clerk was new so cut her some slack. The first hotel transferred our reservation in a way that the second hotel could not find the original reservation. Told us they could give us a room but at a much higher price than I had reserved. And they didn't have any record of our original reservation with the price listed on it. It was easy for me to find it the next day.
Both properties did not appear staff or sufficiently staffed, so we chose to drive home rather than stay overnight. Really bad experience.

There was no cups or coffee pot in room. Not told that it would be in lobby. Waited 10+ minutes before someone came to check us in.

Terrible hotel - too close to freeway!
Pros:The convenience to the University of Michigan hospital.
Cons:They need to clean the room better and update the hotel.
Location:Location was great to the hospital and across the street from Briarwood Mall if that is what you are looking for.
This hotel is so close to the freeway that if you need sleep for a procedure at University of Michigan Hospital do not stay here! My husband was to have surgery the next day and was unable to sleep due to the noise of the freeway and the air-conditioning being so noisy. One good thing I can say about the room, new bed, rest of the room was very old and run down!

This is without a doubt the worst hotel I had ever seen. The rooms were dirty, I ended up with 3 different rooms before I had left. The first room I had to deal with a barking dog next door, the second was very dirty (food particles in the sink, coffee grounds left in the pot, and some unknown liquid in the fridg). The 3rd room had a really bad smell. We ended up leaving in the middle of our stay. The staff was rude, I will never be back.

Would STAY Again!
After spending 4 days in Madison Hts., Extended Stay....this one looked wonderful. I thought the staff was nice. My room was clean, I felt very safe...while my significant other was having surgery at the U of M. Kitchen area was very clean, could not find problem with cleanliness. The room did not smell of any smoke, the walls were not yellowed from age or smoke. I was clean, comfortable room! I would stay again....without a problem!

CLEAN?
Upon arrival, it looked decent. My husband and I didn't stay too much in the room,but when we did, I notice it wasn't that clean. The floor needed swept and there was a towel behind the bathroom door which we DID NOT USE. Not sure when it was cleaned last. There was also hair in the tub and nightstand. I am NOT A CLEAN FREAK,but I expect a clean room for the night.
The location and front desk were great. The price is right for one night $*.The drive is short to the Michigan stadium and the mall is close by.
