Kitchen was unfortunately closed as the inn recently changed plans, so we had to venture out. We had no hot water for showers when we arrived, but the new assistant manager promptly got to work getting it sorted out so we could enjoy a hot shower before bed. Bed was comfy, room and washrooms clean. Parking on site was great.

Checked-in at the bar where staff were all helpful and welcoming. The room (and bed) was very comfortable with good blackout blinds. Central location so very convenient for exploring Alnwick. Weā€™ll stay here again.

*The staff were helpful *lovely spacious room with large bed and bathroom *large TV but limited channels *great tea/coffee facilities (staff even brought us some free fresh milk) *no hot water in the morning and no staff, so choice was either not to shower or have a cold shower....another customer we saw said theirs was the same

The accommodation is in a good location. Parking is available although it's accessible through a very narrow alley way. The staff was one person who ran the bar and cleaned the rooms. Access to the rooms was up stairs which were steep and not suitable for persons with walking problems. Breakfast was advertised on the website but was not available as there was no staff to provide it. Overall the accommodation was okay, but I would not use it again.

Entrance to car park is very narrow if you have a big car. Front door closed at 10pm so would have to access from rear of property up steep stairs to fire exit and enter with fob. We were back by 9:45pm and we could not buy a drink as last orders had been called šŸ™. But clean, comfortable room and central so would stay again for price.

No food served at all, kitchen closed. We discovered this on our arrival. Bar closed at 10pm every day, when the front doors were locked and we had to use fire escape to get back into the hotel. No sign of any staff on site from 10pm to 12 noon next day and doors still locked between these times, therefore the fire escape was the only route we could use to go in or out every day. Difficult to navigate the fire escape, especially when checking out with luggage at 80 years of age! Staff attitudes left a lot to be desired - I would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemy! Iā€™m surprised this hotel is still available to book.

Perfect location between Barter Book and the Playhouse with bus stop right outside. Clean, quiet, comfortable. Nice patio outside to enjoy summer evenings. Not fancy, but if your tastes are simple and you want an affordable base from which to explore the area, this is the place for you.

Despite booking a bed and breakfast rate, there was no breakfast served in the Plough. I complained immediately and pointed out that even the welcome note in the room stated breakfast timings. I booked through hotels.com where it clearly stated that breakfast was included. And finally, I have received a receipt from the Plough that says bed and breakfast rate.
