Beautiful historic hotel. A real oasis in a busy dirty city. Restaurant on the roof had a beautiful outlook and fabulous food. Staff all tried very hard to provide good service, but with a definite Egyptian slant. Complimentary "early dinner" snacks a real bonus much appreciated. Multiple little incidents make me grade this 4 rather than 5 stars especially given the very high price.

The building is from the colonial era and quite nice. Guest room is spacious but the immediate environment is not desirable, especially for our room which has a so-called partial seaview. Service is too slow, from check-in to fixing any problem, the latter may be related to an old and slow elevator. The restaurant on the top is upper scale and offers a sweeping view of the harbor.

The room was gorgeous and the staff was attentive and helpful. The location was phenomenal! The only downside was weak water pressure in the shower. It was not enough for me to be anything but happy with our stay and would stay there again.
