Butrint, a Unesco World Heritage site.
Inhabited since prehistoric times, Butrint has been the site of a Greek colony (800 BC), a Roman city (44 BC) and a bishopric (5th centrury). Following a period of prosperity under Byzantine administration, then a brief occupation by the Venetians, the city was abandoned in the late Middle Ages after marshes formed in the area. The archaeological site is a repository of ruins representing each period in the city’s development and that entity is unique. Moreover the ruines are situated in a beautiful natural setting.
The photo shows the famous baptistery, a major ruin from the 6th century and an ancient Roman monument adapted to the cultural needs of Christianity. Its floor has a an exceptional and well-preserved mosaic pavement, but usually it’s covered with sand (for protection). #Culture #LocalSecrets #History

Beach only reachable via a dirtroad..
Beach in Ksamil. Small town near Saranda, and very very close to Korfu. Right there i met a man from Kosovo, which has a wife from Kraków. Uncommonly you can talk with Kosovar in Polish :)
This little island is part of the Ksamil islands on the Albanian riviera. You can take a small boat from the mainland for about $4 roundtrip. You must arrange with the driver a pickup time.
Albania is a beautiful country off the mainstream tourist map, and definitely worth a visit for the beautiful waters and cheap prices. Check out more of Albania on my latest blog post➡️ www.crazytravelista.com :)
