Country house in the Perigord

Nestled amongst rocks, it was constructed at the end of the 19th century. Completely restored, it offers charm and comfort. It is 2 km away from Agonac, a village perched on a hill overlooking the Valley of the Beauronne, a stream affluent of the Isle. On the Beauronne you still find many mills like the Moulin de Bordes at the centre of the village.

15 min away you will discover Perigueux, city of art and history, Brantôme, known as the Venice of the Perigord, Villar and its caves, Bourdeille and St-Jean-de-Cole (considere one of the most beautifull villages of France) . In the department you will also visit Sarlat, Les Eyzies (prehistoric caves (Lascaux....)) , Montignac and its festival and Bergerac with its vineyards and castles. You will also enjoy the gastronomy of our department (region of truffles, foie gras...).

In the village of Agonac, you will find all shops: bakery, grocery stores, restaurant, a bar, as well as: post office, train station, pharmacy, doctors, nurses, dentists... There is also a tennis club.
A public swimming pool Aquacap is located in the heights of Perigueux in Champcevinel approximately 7 km away from the house.

Our second stay at this lovely property. Gite got everything you need, pool is absolutely fantastic and the views and tranquillity are what really make it for us. Very friendly, welcoming hosts.

An absolute gem
We have had the most enjoyable two weeks here and are very sad to go home. The area is rural and beautifully quiet. We have loved relaxing at the beautiful warm, clean pool and have felt at home in this comfortable, clean, well equipped house. Laurent (the owners' son) has been attentive and always available in the evenings to help if required. There are many things to do in the area and getting around by car is easy. The house and property (with a wonderful view!) was so nice, though, that we chose to spend a lot of time relaxing at home. We are very grateful for our wonderful holiday here and hope the next visitors have a wonderful stay too. We would love to visit again.

We loved our stay here. The pool was fantastic and the views and quiet really made for a relaxing stay. Our hosts were welcoming and on hand to answer any questions we had - we even enjoyed a jar of homemade fig jam! The walk to the village is quiet and bread and pastries can be bought there to set you up for the day. We wanted a relaxing, peaceful holiday and it is exactly what we got!

Wonderful stay
Very comfortable, well equipped property with fabulous pool and lovely views. Enjoyed wonderful fortnights stay with great weather. Hosts were very accommodating although communication a slight problem as we speak very little French and they hardly any English but no real problem. Plenty of beautiful places to see within easy reach and we would certainly stay again. Many thanks Colette for letting us share your beautiful property. Kevin & Jan .

We had a lovely week at the house. Trips to Brantome and canoeing on the river were a highlight. The kids though just loved the pool so we were never far away. The house is fabulous. We will be back. *****

Country retreat
We spend two great weeks in Adonac. A very well equipped house, private, quiet, wonderful pool. A good space for four adults ( and space for two kids). Great hiking trails and good shopping, markets and sightseeing nearby. The owner and her son were very attentive. Highly recommended for a stay in the Dordogne.

Paradise...
The house is set in the most peaceful and prettiest surroundings. I think its the most relaxing holiday we have ever had. The pool is BEAUTIFUL 😂😂😂, spotlessly clean and very refreshing in the hot weather . Collette and Laurant were extremely helpful nothing was too much trouble. The workshop with all the wooden carvings is incredible and would advise to visit . The only complaint that we have is that we couldnt stay longer . Gabe & Missy.

Property more than lived up to expectations, more than we could have expected
This property is amazing. The pictures on the Home away site do not do it justice, both inside accommodation and outside. Colette and Laurent, mother and son did a great job at welcoming us and made our stay very comfortable. Swimming pool was great too. The inside of the house is a real labour of love by the family, all the hand made wood items were a sight to behold! Very French experience, wonderful rural surroundings but near to so many places. Lots of local activities to enjoy - velorail, canoeing, markets, caves and chateaus, walking in the Perigird Limousin natural park, and just enjoying the peace and quiet of the local communities and quiet roads. A real break from normal life. Highly recommended and I would definitely visit again.

Wonderful place
We had a wonderfully relaxing holiday, the property’s location is perfect for peace and quiet yet not far from places like Brantome for exploring. The family are very nice and so helpful but only if you need help, they respect your privacy. We also enjoyed the house and pool immensely, what’s not to like ! The house has real character with plenty of room to relax and enjoy, the pool is a great addition and needed when the sun shines, (which is a lot)We also loved orchid, who is a young truffle hound who lives with the owners son, Laurent, who was great at giving any advice required. Overall we will definitely be going back, the feeling of isolation and peace and quiet, yet only 20 minutes away from such a lovely towns such as Brantome. Look out for deer, foxes and birds of prey too !
